If electric is so great, why not let the free market decide? If you build a better mouse trap people will buy it. But forcing things down peoples throats doesn't sit well with many.

I-6 twin-turbo PHEV could be a formidable combination.

All the blind follows the crooked blind into EVs. Being so blind to ev does not mean you are right and stop forcing ev shit into other people's throat!

I cannot wait to see weather crises that wipe out power supplies and how those EVs' owners faces look like!

1000% agree.... majority of the force comes from calif

I personally think a bigger push for diesel was the transition (to a new power source, E or hydrogen or whatever it will be) is the better answer.... revert back to its Rudolf's origional concept of running on rape seed oil (or other organic oil) as the transition power source....

I don't like that the cars (like tesla) talk to the fuel source and someone can decide you're not allowed to recharge, or let's see where Bob has been by his charge history.... no fuel tax so we will track Bob by his mileage.... eventually someone will have too much control over your mobility, like social media companies do over your opinions.. younger folks might not see the problem with that, us older folks have seen the history

That is all going to boil down to the climate it operates in. Many Prius' will go for so long, Toyota raised the warranty to 150k miles. My wife's prius went just over 100k... but we lived in S Fl, and she, as a realtor, put close to 200 stop/go miles per day on it.
I got that, to some extent its valid, but the reply was to someone with several high mileage cars which would give us at least some anecdotal data to look at

Calif is rushing it well beyond its grid capability, last two weeks have been a power nightmare here, edicts not you use AC or wash/dryer Or charge vehicles...

One good swipe at the power grid and EV are stranded.... prefer old school diesel that would run on about anything you put in the tank other than water.... but the new DEF crap made the new diesels so intolerant of anything but absolutly perfect fuel as to render then sorta worthless in emergencies

A Tesla Owner in Canada said the battery on his $140,000 vehicle died and that they told him a replacement would cost him $26,000 and has locked him out of the vehicle until he gets a new one.

I think the fan base of jeep brand has spoken and is well accounted for in this thread. Corporate would do well to study the demographics of their customers.

I hate to break it to you, but what you see in this thread is an extremely tiny miniscule portion of Jeep's customer base. This thread means absolutely nothing to them. It's literally just a spot for a few people to come yell at technology.

It's less the jeep community itself and more of Sacremento and Brussles standards that are dictating what we get....

I have to wonder the pro 4xe crowd overall what they actually do with thier jeeps, use them as designed or more mall crawl status symbol.... we do honor trails and overland in our diesels, both vehicles need fuel, so that aspect is a wash, but I have diesel power all day, after the batter runs down the 4xe have 4 cyl power....

I could see that. My coworker bought a used Tesla to go work and I get that part its a 100 mile plus a day commute. He was having some issues and they told him if it was the battery which they thought it might be going it would cost him estimated only about $20K. Turns out it was not the case and he dodged a bullet

Exactly!!!! If force is needed that's a huge red flag it isn't the right thing.
