Nobody waves anymore.

I try to wave to all jeep people. Have noticed a lot of people who have jeeps for commute purposes only don't seem to wave but the hard core jeepers do.

Sometimes my wave is insufficient when I’m turning and shifting. Always give a good wave when approaching a Jeep head on though.

Saturday, on the 150 mile drive home from the dealer I got 2 waves. First one was about 15 minutes in second was after I initiated a wave while being overtaken by a nicely modded JL.

I’ve been wondering if the Wrangler wave is different than the Gladiator wave. I had an XJ for 15 years and no one waved at me, but about 95% of Wranglers and Gladiators wave.

In Charleston SC, when I drive the JT I hardly get waves. when I drive the TJ, I always get waves

That's cuz of respect for the older Jeep. Also people are probably more awe struck about the JT and wonder what it is then realize they broke the Jeep Wave Tradition and feel horrible about themselves for the rest of their week. They probably cry themselves to sleep..... just saying.

I get more waves from modded Jeeps. A stock Jeep, not so much. Waved at a motorhome on I-25 not too long ago that had an Overlanded out JT in tow behind a giant ass motor home. My guess was he had base camp and an adventure vehicle.

During my much younger years while living in Spain, the ''sign of the horns'' was most disrespectful.

It was most always directed to another male, at least I never witnessed the gesture displayed towards any woman.

It might work in Texas. Have seen a few horns mounted on cars & trucks there.

I won't wave. I am an asshole. I like Jeeps but don't like people. Just put your sheep mask on and get over it! I am not a follower.

Here in Colorado there are a TON of Jeeps. Plenty of people wave, but I have noticed that it definitely depends on the demographic of the person driving it.

A lot of older people (especially women) or "soccer moms", most often in stock Jeeps, do not wave and probably have no idea it's even a thing. Younger dudes will often wave, but even then you can sort of tell by looking at the Jeep and by looking at them. If the Jeep is totally stock and/or they look like they're someone who would be afraid of their own shadow...there is a good chance they will not wave.

If the Jeep is modded it's almost a certainty that the person will wave, male or female, any age.

Basically, with Jeeps becoming more popular with more people for various reasons and being in a place with so many of them, there will be quite a few who don't wave.

I knew sometimes like minded vehicles wave at each other so i just figured it was that the first couple of times. Now it’s like 80% of jeeps wave. I’ll wave when I can but you can’t get them all.

I wave usually, and it’s a 50/50 proposition for a return wave. I don’t know a specific reason why no return wave- can be a variety of reasons already mentione.

My gladiator is my first Jeep as well and am loving it.

They just throw their noses in the air and look the other way.

Gonna quote/repost my comment from the “do you even wheel” thread here because it seems relevant.

“I’m a brand new first time Jeep owner and was a little excited about the whole “wave” thing. (Silly, I know). Don’t have the budget yet for tires and a level that I want, as I said above. I’ve noticed that some people reciprocate the wave, but others will give you a “look.” I assume that it’s because my jeep is stock sadly.”
