I was thinking the same thing - i can't even get there stock, let alone after the lift (and I haven't even gotten bigger tires yet).

I'm going to guess that is strictly highway driving and behind a semi. I'm on 37's with 4:10's and the best I have gotten was 21.5 doing exactly that.

So you’re telling us you went basically 160 miles both ways plus whatever “passes” and got 22 mpgs on 37s at 5k-8k ft elevation? The gas gauge is suspiciously absent, or something doesn’t add up with almost 300 miles range left. You sure your gauge didn’t reset?

Rubicon 3.6 on 37's = 12-13 mpg max, also driving the speed limit. I've literally never seen above 14.5 on any significant trip. I must be dragging anchor .

I filled up in fairplay on the way back. Took mosquito pass there and Webster pass on the way back. When I arrived in aspen I was right around 20 mpg, and when I got back to Denver I was at 22 mpg. ??‍ All I can say is that I don’t drive it like a sports car. I do have a bedcover as well which I’m sure helps a little bit.

OP is an epic “hyper-miler” (how the VW TDI people put it). In OP’s case, have the spinnaker ready to go and put it in neutral.?
