Hopefully they will make it right. I don't know that I have heard that many complaints about DT. My only complaint is that they don't do alignments.

i thought so too. 250-280 i would have jumped. tire balancer at work doesnt like my 35s, its going to get over it this weekend. LMAODamn thats pricy. I had a set of 37s unmounted and remounted at local shop (Mavis tire)on new wheels for 100.00. came back a week later and had the full size spare done. They didnt even charge me just requested i give them a good review. I didnt even buy the tires there.
Will Costco install tires larger than stock?I've been doing business here in Johns Creek, GA with Discount Tire for over 20 years. I encouraged my son to do the same and he did, but he noticed changes that had escaped me. I see them now. The individual stores are under immense pressure to ramp up the sales to every customer that walks in the door by breaking down every transaction into its individual components and then increasing the price of each of the components. The "Certs" fee is now variable. In your case, it's clearly an example of taking advantage of the "damsel in distress" - a repugnant tactic. My son made the switch to Costco. So far, so good. By the way, mention Costco to the Discount Tire guys, and you can see the fear in their eyes.
They did on my Xterra, but was only going up to a 33"; they also have very limited tire choices - either Michelin or Bridgestone brands only. I wanted Mickey Thompsons so I had to pick a tire retailer that carried the brand. If you want a BF Goodrich, Costco is the way to go.Will Costco install tires larger than stock?
Sam's Club would not for me.
I was trying to replace 275/55/20 with 275/60/20 and Sam's wasn't having any part of it. It could vary by location. I only tried once at the Toledo location. I was expecting free installation and instead I had to take them elsewhere and pay. Havne't tried doing any further tire business with them after that. They did on my Xterra, but was only going up to a 33"; they also have very limited tire choices - either Michelin or Bridgestone brands only. I think it is a Walmart parent corporate thing. Recently ordered some 285/70/17 tires online through them to replace the 245/70/17 factory tires and they would not touch them. Something about if tire size is more than 3% difference than what is shown on the door jam data label of the vehicle, they could not install them per their policy. Told me if I brought the tire/wheels loose off the vehicle, they would do it, but not mounted on the vehicle.I was trying to replace 275/55/20 with 275/60/20 and Sam's wasn't having any part of it. I took in one of my JT tires - bought elsewhere, and they repaired it, no charge. They never even asked. They have also patched a tire of mine for free without buying the tire there.
Same thing happened to me. I took my father-in-law to DT and they went so far as demounting the tire and cleaning the bead area. Worked on it for 15 minutes and remounted the tire at no cost. Guess where my father-in-law bought his next set of tires? He also bought new oem wheels from GM and Discount Tire took care of it.I took in one of my JT tires - bought elsewhere, and they repaired it, no charge. They never even asked.
I have such a distrust of the low end tech, that I’ll be doing this; that way, I can ensure the right torque specs, and not get stripped threads. It also keeps people from monkeying around under the hood, just to see them lose bolts and try to sell me an air filter.Told me if I brought the tire/wheels loose off the vehicle, they would do it, but not mounted on the vehicle.
I’m a low end tech on my best day. Good job. You are her knight in shining armor.RESOLVED. When I asked about the charges and showed them the price of the tire on their website and the same pirce on Belle Tire's website vs what they charged us, they said sorry, it was a glitch in our system. So they refunded us the money.
Thank you. I too have never had a problem with DT. They have always been fair with me and i have bought many tires with them. Whether it was a "computer glitch" or they saw her as a easy buck to make, I will never know. But they did the right thing and refunded our money so I will not have an issue in dealing with them and buying my next set of tires from them.Good job. You are her knight in shining armor.
I have never had an issue with DT or America's Tire. My wife never buys tires. I do all of that. If she has a flat she calls me FIRST and I handle it. Call AAA or a tow and call the tire dealer in advance. My wife walks in and gives her name and it gets done. I pay for it before she even gets there. It's only happened a few times. And my job (retired) isn't completely absorbing my time anymore.
These companies will see a woman coming a mile away with dollar signs in their eyes. A woman AND a flat tire, stand by to stand by. That is the BIG bucks.
