The guy on that bike was looking for a fight. What an entitled douche. He was way out of line. I can’t imagine if I started a fight with everyone who made an illegal turn in front of me or did something illegal that almost made me wreck or likely killed. He’s lucky he didn’t get the shit kicked out of him in the middle of the street.
Exactly. These days you never know what the other guy is packing, either............. it was stupid all the way around but the bigger man "de-escalates".
There's been more than one article I have seen just in the past couple of months where someone died over this sort of BS. One was a woman to instigated road rage and ended up dead.

What?
Since when is the location of contact determine who is at fault.
Biker was not “following” the truck, it blatantly cut his driving lane off.
Sure there are ways to blame the biker, but none of this would have occurred if the JT driver didn’t block a “clear and open lane” of the oncoming traffic.
Just a stupid move on the steroidal JT driver.
https://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclopedia/car-accidents-determining-fault-by-location-of-damage.html

It's not the only thing they use, but they do use the location of damage. The JT had turned and was waiting to complete the turn while the motorcycle had plenty of time to slow down and avoid a collision.

I agree the truck should have waited to turn when the other lane cleared up, but I still think given the evidence (video) the motorcycle would have been at fault.

But literally no accident happened. Driver's suck, gotta watch out for them no matter what

This is actually such a BS response. This entire situation was entirely avoidable, shit like this happens everyday to everyone. I drive a lot for work, if I got out of my van and hit every car that did something stupid or discourteous like this I wouldn’t move 5’. This is a situation where you slow down, honk and tell them they’re an idiot. Instead he played up the severity, hit his truck and then started making a scene. The truck is wrong, the biker is a jackass.
So that must be you in the video

Was this supposed to be an insult? Next time you should just not comment back if you don’t have anything mature or intelligent to say.

My completely logical response explaining the situation was avoidable by both parties but only one escalated it into something it didn’t need to be? Gotcha. Well, everyone liked my comment and nobody likes any of yours so I’d say that tells me all I need to know.

Have a Merry Christmas, you’re not worth my time.

I rode for many many years. Stopped for heath reasons. And because it's so unsafe anymore due to distracted drivers it just wasn't fun anymore.

I will say this. The bike was going too fast for the conditions. And it's not exactly easy to judge how fast a bike is coming at you. Especially when going faster than they should be. Jeep driver could have thought he had more time. On top of that the bike saw the Jeep starting a u-turn. He had plenty of time to slow down. Both were probably at fault to an extent. But the bike took it to a confrontational level.

I ride as well, and drive a JT.

Watching the vid the bike is a block away and the JT is already moving into the lane for the turn. Given how far away the bike was driver most likely never saw him, and given the lane was clear for a block in city traffic, I have no issues with him Turing.

Traffics backed up, guy took an opening in one lane to turn waiting on the right lane to move forward. I see no fault. City traffic is give and take.

Rider made a big huppla out of nothing. Had he slowed down a bit he could of just gone behind the truck no harm no foul. If HE was caught off guard, then he wasn't paying attention. The truck is obvious for a block.

Here's a thought.... Do like Rambo said.... Let it go. Wife and I have over 54 years of Law Enforcement experience and it is that experience (including God knows how many autopsies) that when someone does something stupid in traffic it is best to let it go. You do not know who is going to climb out of that erring vehicle and what that person is going to do.

IMO, 95% of the blame on the biker. Yes, it wasn't the best timing for the JT driver to make a u-turn; but with traffic these days sometimes you just have to force your way in to get anywhere. The biker had plenty of time to stop, and should have done just that and waited for the JT to complete the turn. Had I been the biker in this situation, I probably would have let out a cuss word and maybe a horn or a finger, but that's it.

Ok everyone’s got a chance to voice their opinions on this situation.
Now let’s change it up and swap the vehicles locations.
So instead of the JT blocking the lane, the motorcycle is, and the approaching vehicle is a JT. The Jeep owner gets out and slaps the bike, and starts a confrontation as in the video. Bikers fault for blocking the lane? Jeep owners fault for the confrontation?:punch:
