I've got 11k on my Gladiator now and other than P0300 faults, that are being addressed next week by the dealer (hopefully), the stock shocks are really bugging me. I realize the Overland is geared more toward on-road use but the shocks are way too bouncy for my taste. Years ago I switched from Ranchos to Bilsteins on my F250 and was really pleased with the improvement in firmness.

I've searched the forums and not found an answer.... has anyone, with a non-lifted, stock truck, had any experience replacing the stock shocks with another brand?

Check the Member Marketplace and look for a set of Fox shocks from a Rubicon. They should be around $200 and ride more like what you're looking for.

This is what I plan to do.

Sport S here, and yes, the factory shocks are too soft to control the relatively stiff springs, so when you hit a bump, the springs cycle at least 2, sometimes 3 times before the oem shocks finally get the springs settled. By that time, you hit another bump and you're bouncing again

I have a 1" front spacer only and got the falcon SP2 2.1 shocks (currently set on comfort, but might switch to performance since we're headed into the heat of summer) and LOVE them. The ride is totally controlled / settled. Some of the best money i've spent on the jeep

your suspicions are correct - get a quality set of shocks

My setup on my Overland is almost identical. 1.5” Tereflex leveling kit.

My Falcon SP2 2.1 don’t perform well in cold temperatures. Lots of body roll.

I’m considering another brand. Bilsteins or King.

Are you still satisfied with your Falcons?

thanks

I have an Overland Diesel and switched to the Bilstein 5100s. I've been very happy with them ever since.
