How does it affect mpg? I’m assuming it takes a hit?
When the Pedal Monster was installed on my 3.6, my mileage didn't really change. It gives you a much more responsive petal so I'm sure it dropped a little the first few days until I got used to it but overall it stayed the same. On my diesel, it actually helped a little mpg because the throttle felt smoother.

Before buying a Pedal Monster, I also had a Pedal Commander for a few months. It worked but the throttle wasn't nearly as predicable. After 3 months, I started getting error codes related to the throttle. Their customer service was good and they replaced it but by that point I had bought the Pedal Monster. It works much better so I sold the replacement when it came in. I've never had any trouble with the PM.

Back in my day
we just flipped the air cleaner lid
upside down.
...and left the distributor just "snug" so you could manually advance the timing a couple degrees when you had the money to buy the good gas.

Just one more happy buyer here, the PM fixes what the OP, and my, and many Gladiator owner's issue was: throttle lag, particularly off a dead start. I had someone say to me "I don't know about those things, all they're doing is throwing more gas at it" but that isn't correct, and why mpg doesn't significantly change. You do get a quicker start, which takes a bit more gas, but for most of your drive they're not changing anything when you aren't pushing down the pedal to accelerate.

Also as others have said, keep the settings low. Mine is on city, step 3, which is like level 3 of 27. 27 out of 27, you can barely touch the pedal before shooting in to space (well... as quickly as the 3.6 can do that anyway).

I did turn mine off on the 92 mile trip back from the offroad park this weekend.

MPG was the same crappy 14.2 it was on the way down.

So my poor current mileage is totally the result of big heavy tires and 5.13 gears.

Here to report my results with the pedal monster. It is well worth the 300$ imho. My pedal responsiveness is much better from the start through mid range. Watching the output while driving, my stock curve is only requesting 10% when the banks is requesting 40%. Its definitely not linear. The farther into the rpm range you get the closer the curves become. I do still have the rev hang, which I wasn't expecting to be remedied anyway. At this point I have gotten used to it and it is what it is. I would really like to drive a MT that's been tuned by bmpcamry09 just to see the difference, but at this point, I don't believe a full comprehensive tune isn't going to add earth shattering results. I can imagine in an AT gladiator a pedal monster would be even more noticeable. Again, overall, I would definitely spend the $300 on this again.

I think a tune would add noticeable results even over the pedal monster.

$1000+ more worth of noticeable results?

Now that's where it gets tough.

Not BMP's fault. Hardware, unlocks, and credits are pricey.

Anyway - you fellas have me sold. Later this year I might order one and try it out.

Not Knocking the cost of tuning at all. I actually have the hp tuners mvpi cable and software already. I really don't want my truck down for a week for the pcm unlock then have to deal with data logging and sending files. I have contemplated just driving down and having him tune it so I wouldn't need to mess with it. His prices are honestly low when it comes to custom tuning, I just am not convinced I'd see that big of improvement over the current configuration. This is just a case of, "its good enough" and I probably will always think it needs more., but for now its not to bad. That being said, in a AT truck his tune with shift points would be exponentially better than the stock configuration, even with a pedal monster.

Yea I have an HP Tuners MPVI3 myself. Maybe if I buy another computer, have that flashed, and spread the costs out over a bit I won't be mad 😂
