Of course you shouldn't, I'm not saying you should. I also open doors for people who are physically able, and frequently show no appreciation. I don'thave to.

I'm saying I let people merge and it cost me nothing, spares me unnecessary drama as seen in the OP and doesn't change my arrival by a perceptible amount.
It cost me time. Time is my most valuable asset. I cannot get it back. It’s time I can spend with my kids, wife or making cash. I cannot recoup the time some pricks have taken because they have valued their time as more valuable than mine.

i see your point, and now that I’m not in a one ton truck w bumpers that weigh what the jeep does, I have to drive accordingly. But that does not make them any less the prick.

Trying to do this in the most non-confrontational way but your thinking right there is the exact same thing those people are thinking that just ram jam their way into a line to get off the off ramp first. "Their" time is more important than yours cause "they" want to get home to spent time with their kids, family or do whatever they want with their time with no thoughts of others time.

They have valued their time more important than yours just as you have done to them.

My time is absolutely more important to me than their time. I don’t disagree. I’m also not as rude as that post may have come off. Was still soaking up coffee.

But I also will wait my time in line as to not take that time unjustly from others. I realize that we all must waste time in our society so that we don’t selfishly take that of others to do what we want/need to do.

@XJADDICTION I am sorry for you. This crazy happens all the time. At least you made it out safe and it was the police that came for you not the meat wagon.

I run school buses here in Pa., we are on the road for about 7,000 miles/day. In Pa., we have to recertify every 4 years with 10 hours of in-bus/classroom training. Our company does a few hours per year of training plus newsletters, helpful hints etc.. I can tell you that we are not perfect but we constantly try to be better. Driving a bus load of kids is different, the defensive driving changes. It is all about keeping that load of kids as safe as possible at any cost.
I am also a CDL examiner, and I have failed some great drivers and had to pass some not-so-great ones. Unfortunately, I can only score what they do with me on a test even when I know that is not their normal driving. If they demonstrate that they know how and can safely drive that vehicle then I sign off. I cannot judge whether they will drive safely.
It is sad that people are so off their rocker. I always help someone when I can but now I have to be leery that a flat tire isn't someone trying to lure me out.
Like many of us out there, I come equipped with a certain level of preparedness.
Just remember- Cooler heads prevail. Be safe.
Lol, not here it's not. Here it's "I'm bright ass yellow and own the road, you'll wait because I have kids in me". The bus drivers here are idiots and constantly pull in front of people and stop on the main roads instead of pulling off a bit as to not stop traffic. They will also pull out in front of you and not speeding up in a timely manner. If you honk at them some of them will open their window at a stop light and yell at you. I hate seeing buses.

I drive a UPS truck all day. It seems like most people don't think the rules of the road don't apply to them. They just do what ever they want.
Unfortunately both common sense & common courtesy went extinct on our roadways, and come to think of it, just about everywhere else in our society a long time ago.

Be safe out there delivering all of our cool Jeep accessories!

Let the whack jobs go And completely ignore if you can.

In today’s world, it seems most are in a hurry in their useless lives and expect everyone to get out of their way. Respect is a quickly dying virtue in today’s world. Personal responsibility is right there with it. Everything is everyone’s fault but their own. They see what people get away with in today’s world and feel nothing pertains to them.

We need to bring back the good old days of ass kickings.

@mike921921 I found that handing them my Concealed Carry Permit with my license helps when I am carrying, then like you putting my hands on the window sill. I feel that is less threatening than 'telling them I have a gun on me', never know when one will take that as a threat.

Oh, I don't reach or hand them anything first - hands on the sill and ask for further instruction. Last time, she had no interest in my permit, only wanted the license.

Must agree. It's the major reason I stopped riding motorcycles a few years back. Every time I got back from a ride I felt like I had cheated death again. Got tired of it and in my old age I'm not near as adventurous as I used to be.

Just a rant so feel free to bypass.

My wife and I argue about this all the time. I know and understand the highway and road system. She however despite my teaching her about our road system [Interstate #s go up from SW to NE, exit sign on the left of a road sign stating the exit is x miles away means it will be a left exit, and slower traffic is required to stay right except to pass etc etc] insists on staying in the left lane "to see". Does she pull to right when she see's a faster vehicle come up behind her? Yes---but usually she is off in her own world and isn't paying any damn attention at all. Needless to say I always drive.

She absolutely hates it when I am following the rules of the road and get frustrated because some idiot in front of me [or fifteen other cars] won't get out of the left lane.

If I come upon someone like this I flash my lights once prior to trying to pass on the right. She considers a single flash an act of assault . Needless to say 70% of the drivers in front of me don't even notice the flash and I end up passing on the right.

Love the 90+% of Police and State Patrol officers that do their very difficult job professionally with a genuine desire to serve. But it absolutely pisses me off they will NEVER pull someone over and give them a warning or ticket for impeding traffic. I blame this on our Judicial system which I assume wouldn't support the police.

Both my son and son-in-law are police officers in Southern California so I'm well aware of just how frustrating and difficult their jobs are. Absolutely no support from the politicians [which usually includes the Police Chiefs and Captains].

It's been going on for years. Less and less respect for others, less courtesy, less patience.

But what the OP has described is something different. Sounds like this woman is an insurance scam looking for victims.
Around here they run a box trap, someone will cut in front of you and slow down, someone gets right on your rear bumper, and another will block you on an open side, then lead vehicle brake checks you, after you rear end them the other two cars become witnesses.

I have had folks rage behind me for actually letting someone merge. It is a no-win situation.
I had this happen a few weeks ago. Car was coming over and I pretty much didn't have a choice it was let them in or be hit and the mess dealing with a wreck just isn't worth it. So I slowed up a tad let them in. I could see the guy behind me going ballistic. Now we are not talking about any sort of major delay here and he could have easily pulled into the left lane and gone full throttle. Next thing he comes pulling alongside me as I was just cruising at around 65. He is screaming inside his car, swerving at me, and then guns his car to get in front of me. He hit his brakes (I was keeping a close eye on him and keeping my distance as much as possible) and then guns his car going back into the left lane then slows to get alongside me again. He is pointing and just going off in his car. Next thing he accelerates fast and takes off to what seemed like 100 mph down the freeway till I couldn't see him any longer. I never saw him again after that but I can tell you I sure wish I had put my gun in the car but I usually don't when just making a run to someplace like sporting good store like I was.

You would have invested far more time in police interaction and conversation with a batshit crazy person than you would lose by just saying, "you go right ahead "
