This option is not off-road friendly, but pretty cool for on road charging if you have cordless charging.

Not sure it's compatible with the 7. A few people on here have it with the 8.4, and they're reporting it works really well.

dang! And I just bought another one this morning!

It gets ridiculous, but for solo trips here is my set up. The 67 Designs rail for the phone mount, dash cam, and a mag mic mount for my gmrs handset. The iPad (for maps) is on a Ram mount/67 Designs arm, attached to a CMM grab handle ball. It’s all super solid and minimal movement on rough trails.

I went with a simple, inexpensive magnetic mount. No muss, no fuss!

That slot is for the key fob, not a cell phone BTW

Not disagreeing but does it say that in the manual and why would anyone put want to put a key fob in it? I must be using mine wrong.

It says that in the manual. I put mine there for car washed, dropping it off for service, and things like that.

How do you attach it to the dash?

It comes with 3M adhesive disk already attached to base. Also has extra 3M disk in package. Mounted to the small "ledge" above radio volume knob. The unit swivels 360 degrees and can be positioned any way you want. For me, it works great and the magnets are very strong.

Thanks, I can't see the need but it does make a good phone holder for android auto and charging. Too bad they didn't put wireless charging in it or a retractable usb, but maybe later.
