That was quite a few for one update, but that is not out of the ordinary since about 2018. Software updates have been running rampant and many dealerships and brands that are not tech savy to it really struggle. The diesel's heavy and light duty, have huge updates on a regular basis. Some good some bad, but they all are usually skirting around performance and emissions. When VW got in trouble, it was sad and comical how many updates came out.
Crazy. I understand what's going on but think such things should be nowhere near the automotive industry. I am a 25 year IT guy, Cisco VoIP, firewalls, routers, switches - totally used to constant bugs, updates, troubleshooting - the works. Vehicles should not need this.

They shouldn't, but they ALL do. There is not one brand that is immune to it. There are some that refuse to update unless forced by a regulation. They have less updates, but why short the customer on upgrades if your gonna be messing with it anyway. The control system is so vast anymore there is no way to fully factorial test and once the machine is on the market you actually start getting to see what corner cases and full duty cycle use cases occure and skew development to address those. It is a bit disconcerting as a customer. Thus the reason I dont feel bad tearing into my new cars and making them the way I want them.

I know man. Just rejecting the future. :/ I am in my mid forties and buy CDs. Why? 1.44Mbps Redbook audio. Totally superior to any Spotify or Pandora stream. Young kids would call me a luddite but it's like yeah - I had Winamp in the 90s when mp3 showed up. I'll keep my CDs!

This is our 4th plug-in...Not all EVs are created equal.
It's funny to me that you say both of these statements and yet keep insisting you know how the 4xe is supposed to work based on your other plug-ins.

We researched its capabilities extensively before purchasing, and the manual clearly documents what it’s “supposed” to function like.
Can you cite in the manual where it discussed full electric range in low temps specifically? If not perhaps some of the capability claims you're citing might only exist in your own head-canon.
_____

Look man, this is an eight-page monstrosity where it seems like on page 1 there should have been a paraphrased transcript of "I told the dealer my problem was X, the dealer said it's normal because of Y." That would allow us to then comment on whether Y is accurate or not. Instead, you're spending time talking about what you think the vehicle should be doing or how you'd design it yourself, which does little to nothing towards addressing the issue of your dealership service or fixing your Jeep if necessary. If the dealer is factually wrong about whether the vehicle is working as intended this should be super straightforward. right?! So why aren't we focused up on that part? And if the dealer isn't factually wrong then what are you hoping to accomplish here? Do you want to make a big enough stink so the dealer buys the Jeep back?

If you have nothing constructive, stop talking. Troll.

You do realize that can and often does mean WAY under 30 where we may have a day that hits 30.
We've had weeks of highs that rose up to -20. We had one year where a pile of dirt that was dug the December before for a new well didn't thaw until May.
It's not Alaska by any means - but there are times when the ice forms we don't lose it for months.

You did mention your Jeep was 70 degrees inside at one point - sounded like the thing was nice and cozy when ya got into it.

That's going to be another issue with plug-in cars and trucks....... there's a whole lot of the population that has no attached garage and almost as many that won't have the capability to charge them without special wiring being run. I'd have to run a circuit in our garage to handle plugging one in.
We do have a special circuit. I’ve had one since 2013. Not complex. 40amp 240v. 8awg wiring. Charger. Easy. Basic. Cheap. The inside is 70+ because, if you’d read the thread before commenting, we pre start it plugged in so that cabin temp is established without loss of any battery charge. This is a basic thing that most EV owners know. If you don’t, no problem, but I mentioned it repeatedly. The reason this thread is so long is largely because of comments from people that haven’t read the thread. Go comment on a thread about something else others have posted, that you have little knowledge about. Thanks so much for your time.

If you know nothing about the vehicle you bought, stop spouting off about it :)

EDIT: But also, I am being constructive bro. My question about what specifically your dealer says is working as intended is 100% intended as relevant and constructive, and I think if you take a half step back from being so emotionally invested in this thread you'll see that it's a perspective you need to understand if you hope to find an acceptable solution here.

Just give it up. He himself is a troll who anonymously insults people with shit he sure as hell wouldn't say in person. The skill he displays trolling everyone by claiming everyone is a troll, he truly is a master at the internet.

He's not looking for a solution, a discussion, or even an explanation as to why its happening, he just wants to make the stink as you said. Op apparently believes it will be more effective here than on a 4xe specific forum because he doesn't want to wait the few hours it usually takes to get approved on one of those boards. If he really wants an answer instead of claiming people need to "read the thread" he'd realize he gave no details as to what the dealer said or what the car is saying just that it doesn't work like his other 3 unnamed EVs.

And to the OP here is my 4xe, I've had it longer than 14 days and 500 miles (about 5k miles) and actually researched it before we bought it by reading other owners accounts as well as the actual manual and 4xe supplement. Tampa may not be Colorado, but there are usually at least 10-14 days with temps between 32 and 40 so if it goes to shit even at 40 it would be nice to know why and what to do before it happens.

omg....

Glad yours is working for you - but that sounds like something NOT ready for release. Vehicles need to work in remote areas and not be expected to only operate where a dealer is in range.

Owners shouldn't be beta testing cars. Software is pure cancer.
You’d be amazed to see how many your JT has too
