I'd put the ride of my wife's 26 JLU up against most Gladiators. They've seriously made improvements in ride and handling. Steering is tight and true. Ride is impressive.

Cargo - well, let's be real - a truck vs. a non-truck??? Why is that even a topic?
Lay the seats down in a modern JLU, though - and you can get about as much stuff in there as with that tiny JT truck bed.

I love the Wrangler because I can get it in a 2 Door. I love the Gladiator because I can haul things and do truck stuff. If only we had a way to combine the two into the best version of the Gladiator.

Open desert, towing, and hauling the JT wins. Tight trails and especially big rocks like the rubicon or moab trails the JL wins. That's why we have both.

We have had a JKUR and a couple TJ's. But I have wanted a Gladiator ever since it was revealed. We have a Forester, and it has been great as my wife's vehicle. Growing up my family had a few FSJ trucks, so I think that's why the Glad to me is better. I made a detour with the Ridgeline, but hope to remedy that in the next year or so.

Like others, we have 'em both.
If I had one to drive as a sole vehicle, I'd choose the Gladiator. You get overall more space and utility. Plus as a Coach, I can place stinky gear and muddy equipment in the bed. In the Wrangler, it stinks up the joint and is a tough fit.

The Wrangler is actually fairly nimble and easier to park. We honestly love them both, but the JT would get the nod overall.

Bruh!!! I was so close to having that same setup!!!!! Wifey preferred the cockpit of the 4Runner to the Wrangler.
My wife had been jealous of me taking the doors/top off on my Wrangler and Gladiator. She took one look at the Tuscadero Pink and she was sold. It was past time to ditch the mom mobile, Grand Cherokee anyway.

You are asking on a Gladiator Forum which we prefer, we made our choice with our wallets already. Most of us prefer a Glady post this on the wrangler forum results will be opposite. The Mojave is my favorite and best vehicle I have owned , going on six years with it and still happy, my wife has 9 years in a sport Wrangler JK and 7 years in a JL Sahara , we both feel the Mojave rides better then the Sahara mostly I assume from the longer wheel base, plus similar tires tread wise would improve it more so. Mojave handles cloverleafs at higher speeds, and my wife has no problem jumping in the Mojave and taking off….so we like both!…Jack

Im good with her getting the 4Runner. Caught her looking at Grrumpy grilles when she thought I wasn’t looking.

Disclaimer: only if you seriously wheel your Jeeps.

Just my observations:

Gladiator if you tow anything bigger than a small utility trailer. Go big on the lift and deep on the gears. Armor up the belly and the tail, because you'll drag it...a lot.

Otherwise, I'd vote for the Wrangler (and buy a small utility trailer if you need to haul anything). The shorter wheelbase and lack of overhang sure is helpful on the trails.

Most levels of JT - 6,000 pound towing - and my Mojave is limited to UNDER 900 pounds payload.
The JLU we have now - 5,000 pounds towing and up to 1300 pounds payload
I could technically tow my car hauler for my Eagle on it with the JLU. It would be maxing it out, but it's doable in an emergency.

If you have a JLU and a nice trailer - you are set for hauling almost anything you need from Menards.

The JT is convenient - load it and go. So there is that.
But we have both, a 2026 JLU Rubicon and a 2025 JT Mojave and so the best of both worlds, choices.

I can put MORE in our JLU than I can my JT Mojave by 400 pounds!!!!!
And it tows only 1,000 pounds less than the JT Mojave.
