So I'm looking to get a portable air compressor, something that will run off the battery, and not a "built-in" air. I'm looking to get it for those times I perhaps go off-road and air down some (right now and for the foreseeable future I'm on stock street tires) so I can air back up before getting on pavement AND in the event I need to put air in our camper tires.
I'm looking to get this: Viair 300P Portable Compressor Does anyone have any experience with this? And, although I suspect I know the answer, how does this compare to, say, one of those little jobs that plugs into your cigarette lighter you can get for $30 at AutoZone? I'm presuming it's no comparison, the Viair will push out more air, faster (CFM) and to a higher pressure (my camper tires recommend about 50psi).
Granted, I know I'll have to keep myself amused while I work my way around to each tire of the Jeep and this likely won't be as fast as a good on-board air system, but should it be good enough?
