I have the APH-CH01 leftover from a 2019 Ram install, and just ordered the APH-CH03 harness because PAC Audio's website listed that as what works in the Gladiator.

Hopefully will be able to confirm which is the correct harness for everyone shortly.

Many thanks to JSPEED for posting this thread - it has been very helpful with tons of information.

Any idea what the airspace is inside the factory box? wondering about just replacing the factory 8" with a much better one, or possibly a 10", and amplifying it.

I've been wondering this as well. I have had some decent systems before, but in my Benz wagon daily driver, I just replaced the factory 8 with a mid priced JL 8 and an amp even though my stereo guy was pushing me to do a custom box. The factory box is plastic but he added some insulation I think. Anyway it sounds so great that I was considering it here in my JT.

I really don't want to take up my under seat storage space. I'd do anything for a non-custom, behind the seat option, obviously with a low profile sub. I'm surprised more folks haven't tried something like the JL powerwedge or similar. I don't like the sound of the hideaway subs personally. I saw in at least one thread (could have been this one -- I've read every sub thread on the forum I think) that measured the depth with the factory sub and trim removed, at like 5 inches? Does anyone know if it's tapered at all, such that something that is a 4.5" at the top, 7" at the bottom box, like some of the JLs, would work?

If anyone is wondering, I asked the guys at OEM Audio Plus if they would sell just the sub box. Looks like a pretty solid design. They said no.

I'm in the same boat as you and I'm quite surprised no one has come out with a direct replacement for the sub. My insane head unit supposed to come tomorrow, hopefully it will help in the audio department.

I’ll get a close measurement tomorrow and reply here. I have the inside taken apart to put the sound assassin in.

Well, an 8” shallow sub won’t fit in the factory box. So it’s probably coming out soon.

Thanks for all the measurements. These will come in handy for many people including me if i ever decide what to do.

I am considering that kicker HS 10 that will just fit right in. I don’t want to give up my under seating storage

Hey guys, I hooked up the wires in the pillar for the inputs instead of doing remote wire. It only comes on when I get above half volume. Any ideas?

I was able to tap into the factory sub’s remote wire and everything works good now. I think the wiretaps might need to be changed up to the next gauge.

Can you clarify? Just too shallow to fit another sub?
Crutchfield has several 8” that are 2 5/8 (or kicker 2.7”) top mount depth..
Is there room between face and the rear seat to add an adapter ring, so a deeper 8” or even a 10” could fit in the factory box?

I wish I had measured that depth, but no. It’s more like 1”, maybe 1.5”.
