BTW i forgot to mention be very careful pulling off the rear interior panel. There are several hidden clips along the top just under the rear window and i broke all but one trying to remove it. I was pretty careful and even used my trim tools but they broke anyway however i didn't have a clue what held that panel in place so it was easier for me to break them lol. Now you know so be careful and take your time.

i added some pics. There are 4 bolts that need to come out and the rest is clips. The clips i was talking about under the rear window are the ones where i'm pointing and circled. The clips on the sides come off easy.

Has anyone tried this in a system without the Alpine Upgraded stereo. I have the 7" screen and the 8 speaker (no sub) setup. Want to add this amp. But you see the back trim piece is different then yours, does not have the bump out for the sub/with grill, nor the two small trays, just the netting pieces.

This is my situation, also.
I think an under-seat solution might be better (under the front seat.)

almost looks like it could sit on the floor between the back wall and the under seat storage box. Will have to measure it later to see.

What size sub fits under the front seat? I assume you mean passenger seat?

Im following along, would love to see what you figure out as I will be doing the same once my Jeep arrives.

So here's my current plan... going to upgrade all the speakers to the JBL Club and upsize the knee speakers to 6.5 and the soundbar to 6x9's. Once that is done, going to tackle the amp, my first thought it to replace the alpine sub and go to a 10" shallow mount using the oem box/amp, if that's not possible, try to retain the oem box and add an amp to power the sub and if that's not possible, do a very shallow truck box to replace the oem box. Does that make sense?
- Which of those sub options do you guys think will work?
- I saw on the JL forums, there's guy who make adapter rings to get a 10" shallow sub to fit, will that work with our rear seats?
- If I add an amp for the sub, could I grab speaker level inputs from the subs wiring harness? The amp I'm looking at has a remote turn on built in based on the speaker inputs so I won't need a LOC

Here's what I'm looking at:

I've since replaced the kicker powered subwoofer. I installed two amps behind the rear seat, two 10 inch subs under the rear seat completely losing all my storage . I also replaced all the speakers in the truck and added American Soundbars Soundbar replacing their JBLs after about a month with Rockford Fosgate and an Insane Audio head unit. Sounds Amazing now.

i was happy before but we went to a few Jeep events and everyone else's sound system blew mine away and i got jealous so had to upgrade.

Damn you JSpeed! I was about to pull the trigger on the kicker powered sub and now you are making me second guess it.... i had 2 kicker 10s in a previous truck and loved how it sounded. but trying not to give up my under seat storage....

LOL, Storage is the only downfall. i installed two swing cases in the bed of the truck for extra storage.

Weird question. I have kids that ride in the back. how uncomfortable are those to sit on when they're thumping?
