If you are like me radio is 2-4x louder when no one else in truck, lower volume with kids and others in truck. So no issue.Weird question. I have kids that ride in the back. how uncomfortable are those to sit on when they're thumping?
Seems like a lot of work. I think i'm just going to buy one of those ground shaker boxes and some shallow subs. should do the trick i hope.Just posted this in another sub thread but thought I'd share here, here are my plans...
CAD is worse than a foreign language to me but here's the pic... So the blue will be a wider channel for the airspace. I plan to separate the box in the middle with a 1" channel to be able to feed/hide wires behind the amp mount. the little red rectangles are my amps, I was trying to see how they'd fit in the space between the subs.
Using these subs: https://www.crutchfield.com/p_13692188/JL-Audio-10TW1-2.html?tp=68872
running 1ohm 500watts total or 250 to each sub. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_20647KEY50/Kicker-47KEY500-1.html
The box gives me a bit more than the required airspace which should make up for bracing.

Meh, box building is fun, plus I plan to make it look pretty close to oem back there. I don't want to sacrifice the under seat storage. Between my recover gear and rain cover, that's a lot of shit to relocate.Seems like a lot of work. I think i'm just going to buy one of those ground shaker boxes and some shallow subs. should do the trick i hope.

Ive never heard anyone complain, but generally subs are adjustable. If it sucks, even at low volume, just turn the sub down/off.Weird question. I have kids that ride in the back. how uncomfortable are those to sit on when they're thumping?
I just looked more closely at their boxes, if you can get past the fact that it sticks out from under the rear seat (my kids would destroy that with their shoes), they only use 5/8 mdf instead of 3/4. It's certainly an option but I'd rather build to my specs and have a cleaner install.Seems like a lot of work. His is behind the seat, which is the most ideal spot imo. There are a lot of boxes that fit under a seat. You dont even need the ground shaker, go to best buy and youll see dozens of them.Seems like a lot of work. I haven't started my audio upgrades yet but I have the same sound bar but using Hertz speakers etc. I have the JL Audio Stealth Box for under the rear seat and I was thinking of mounting the amps behind the rear seats (or maybe under the front seats but rather have them more hidden). Question for you or anyone, has anyone seen pics of amps mounted behind the seats without removing that rear panel? I don't want to leave exposed areas like I've seen here, want it more finished looking. Probably have to make some type of custom panel, but wondering how I'm going to secure it to the back panel as it seems like there is a few inches of space between the plastic panel and the sheet metal if that make sesnse.Sorry guys it's been a while since i was on this forum. if you guys ever need anything just message me and i'll get an email notification.
I've since replaced the kicker powered subwoofer. I installed two amps behind the rear seat, two 10 inch subs under the rear seat completely losing all my storage. I also replaced all the speakers in the truck and added American Soundbars Soundbar replacing their JBLs after about a month with Rockford Fosgate and an Insane Audio head unit. Sounds Amazing now.
i was happy before but we went to a few Jeep events and everyone else's sound system blew mine away and i got jealousso had to upgrade.

Yeah, that was what I was looking at then, but they do seem a little bit bulky and cheap looking. I think I've decided on the BRP boxes and running 2 10s. They look to be a bit smaller profile and better protected.I just looked more closely at their boxes, if you can get past the fact that it sticks out from under the rear seat (my kids would destroy that with their shoes), they only use 5/8 mdf instead of 3/4. I'm worried there just isn't enough space back there. If all you're wanting is to add a little thump to your setup, i'm sure you could find something....one of those powered JL's or something. But i keep the top off for almost half the year here in Texas and I wanna hear it. I had a 12 in a box in my JL just sitting against back seat and that worked well enough. But I'm gonna have this truck for awhile...I want a nice setup. I'm not worried about losing the space under the seat. Jack will go behind seat or in bed and bolt storage will go in the garage. Only concern will be my Rain Gear cover, but i'll probably just leave that tucked up against back of the bed like i had it in the back of the JL. Best purchase i ever made for my JL btw. cover from raingearcovers.com. That thing survived two golf ball sized hail storms. Still works for my JT too!His is behind the seat, which is the most ideal spot imo. There are a lot of boxes that fit under a seat. you can build a box with around 1cuft back there. I’m running two kicker shallow 10’s. A 12 might work but I didn’t measure for that. I still have about 8” above it and will trim the plastic panel to fit.I'm worried there just isn't enough space back there.
