Interesting, but I was just wondering has anyone thought about adding a wireless charging module? They are super thin but not sure if one would fit upright with the phone.

Thanks for sharing! Great ideas are always copied!

Here is my 3D printed solution. Fits like a glove! Now I just have to route the cable like you mentioned.

I don't have a 3d printer but always wanted one. Have you gotten much use out of yours?

Neat Idea! Can I ask if this is for those that don't have the CarPlay option? I am just trying to understand the problem to solve and, if it's because of a lack of that feature, it makes perfect sense. I'd like something like this in my other Jeeps for certain then!

Thanks. This is FOR the UConnect with Android Auto and the other one. Granted it could be used for just charging your phone too.

This design worries me - seems like it would be very easy to accidentally knock the top of the phone and break something. I would be more comfortable putting it in the arm rest; however, then you really cant store much else in there unfortunately.

Ahh, so the goal is not use the USB and store your phone in the armrest? We've just been doing that with no issues, other than we, sometimes, forget to grab our phones on the way out of the vehicle.

I just put the phone in the slot with the charging port facing up. I have the cable connected in the console and routed out the indent on the passenger side. My phone is just wide enough it won't slide all the way down into the slot. Enough fits to secure it for travel. This also keeps the cable out of the way as I use both drink holders.

In the first six months I used it a lot. Made all sorts of novelty things for practice, then started making practical things for around the house. Since then I use it only when there's a need, kinda like this project. 3D printers take lots of patience and practice, but it's a good hobby.

Hi guys... A little off topic but hopefully not too much. I understand that the USB input is for my standard charging cable etc, but what about the USB c inputs? Would you use that with a double ended USB c cable ? And for what reason/benefit. Please excuse my obvious stupidity
Thanks
