As soon as I get my new Rubi I am about to cut a hole in the hood for the cold air intake vent. I will say that I wish FCA got their crap together on the ordering process. Constant changes and unavailable feature. Now you can order the trailer brake controller and the air filter is a factory option. Would rather have FCA do it than me.

What the actual? Trailer brake is available for order? Didn't know air filter would ever be an option but it's now on my must have list. Heading to the dealership tomorrow... Or in the next 15 days. Life sucks.

Edit: I assume you mean the hood intake.

Been busy but did get mine this week. Was at the dealership a total of 5 hours negotiating my trade and the purchase of the truck. Worst buying experience I've had. I have factory ordered a Tacoma before and it was a cake walk. Negotiating with FCA is like pulling teeth. Nobody seemed happy in that dealership. But I got the truck and got a deal I eventually found acceptable. I was fighting them for literally every dollar though it was stupid. I would have walked if it hadn't been a truck I had built to my specs and waited months for. Anyway here it is. People were flocking it at the dealer asking to test drive it.

It looks worth it to me. Sorry your dealer was a dealer. Buying a new car should be one of the happiest experiences ever but it never is given the system that's been in place since cars were a thing.

I hate when they put peoples ordered vehicles out on the showroom floor so everyone can touch it and even possibly scratch it. Growing up in a car family I knew from a very young age to look and not touch and I cringe every time I see people around my vehicles.

Yeah, that's what I meant. I assume it also comes with this vent in the hood since that appears to be where the filter/intake is on the CAI.

EDIT: No clue where the actual CAI terminates but I was just guessing where and what this might be.

I am sure it is the same one that is for JL wrangler. It can be bought not. Only difference is the wrangler one uses paper filter vs washable on the gravity. I prefer the paper filter anyway.

Sales guy had texted me about an orange overland they had in. Wasn't what I wanted but I was in the area so stopped by to check out the color in person. They had sent it to get a lift, tires and grille. Oh well.

On my way back to the office it was parked in front of 4wp, 30 seconds from my office.

I ordered a week ago today. Went straight to D and then D1 and now supposedly there is a "tentative build date of the week of September 30th." And my JTR "could be built anytime within that scheduled week." This all just seems to be moving forward without delay. I'm ecstatic!
