Took some metal to the scrap yard today. 5660 lbs with me and my son and some junk they wouldn't take still in the bed.

I'm 270, my son is 170 and I'd guess the junk was about 50 lbs. Roughly 5100 lbs I'd say by itself.

I was loaded up for camping. No trailer
Had the wife so too much gear but for kicks went to local CAT Scale. 5380 with gear and not 420lbs of passengers. Pretty darn close to the limit. I should have bought a Max Tow for more payload. Had a bed rack ~60lbs and cargo rails ~50lbs a full tank of gas and ~20lbs tools emergency gear etc. So ice chests and gear was about 500lbs (I'm guessing the 4600lb dry weight was accurate).

Here was mine on the scales a few months back. Me and my wife which is probably 280lbs between the two of us, I'm 145 and she's maybe 135 and about 500lbs of junk in the bed to toss out.

It's all going to matter what accessories you have and what you've added to your vehicle.

MIne is fairly stock. 5000 lbs on the nose. 5180 lbs with my 180 lbs son in the passenger seat.

When I get my truck, one of the very first things I will do is fill the tank and take it to a scale so I can track payload as things are changed. The scale I use is at an RV storage yard south of Denver, and I can weigh the truck under pretty controlled circumstances. I.e., no one in it, full tank (station around the corner), whatever equipment I want (i.e., remove car seat base). Pretty handy setup.

It seems Jeep is pretty spot on with their published weight of 5050-5072 lbs for a Rubicon.
Configuration - 2021 Gladiator, Rubicon, V6 Pentastar, Auto, 3-piece Hardtop, stock (not 'steel') bumpers, full fuel (22gl @6.3lbs per, 138 lbs)
Weight (on certified scales) - 5040 lbs total, 2660 lbs- front axle (53%), rear axle 2380 lbs (47%)

OK, old guy but NOOB on using CAT scales. Don't want to make an (fill in the blank) of myself. I really want to weigh my trailer and CJ3a with a 450lb plow hanging off the rear 3pt hitch. How do these commercial scales work?
So do I go across the scale with a fully loaded JT and trailer + load and then go a second time with just the JT?

I'll be finding out this week. Taking garage junk to the dump. Curious as to what my JT weighs.

I've probably added about 175 lbs with my front bumper and winch alone

When I got mine the registration said 4,913 tare, 6250 GVWR. My state also requires weighing before registration. I think they must have weighed it on E, before they filled it up for me. Mine is the same configuration as yours, but manual, and with the steel front bumper (so probably equaling a wash with the the lighter transmission but heavier bumper). I know Jeep lists the curb weight for mine at 5,050 lbs, but I think that's with a full tank.
