Real world MPG, what are you getting in your Diesel?

23.6 on the first 1200 miles. Better mileage when using adaptive cruise control around town. Mileage could have been better but stayed around 75-80 in the rolling hills of north Florida on the trip home from Orlando, where I picked it up. Anything is better than the 13.2 I was getting in my 2013 Wrangler unlimited Rubicon.

Yesterday was my first long road trip since installing the 4” lift and 37’s. Cruise set at 70 mph from Florida to Indiana. Hand calculated was 23.5 mpgs. I’m pretty happy with this.

I'm running same lift and tires and averaging about the same.

22.8 on my first tank (hand calculated), 23.8 according to computer.
25.4 on my second tank, computer said 24.1.

On a 4" lift and 38's I love this power train

over a thousand at 80 mph with the sunrider open, 750 with web doors.
The sunrider at speed kills over a mpg.

AND since everyone wants to believe the DIC(k)

I haven't seen a thread on users experience with MPGs on the EcoDiesel, just assumptions before the truck got into peoples hands.

With a quick description of your vehicle (tires, gearing, etc), what MPGs are you achieving with your 3.0 Diesel.


I know a Jeep isn't a Prius, but a good/decent MPG with the added weight and larger tires will have a longer Mileage Range and more fun & less worries.

I have a stock rub with the AT tires. I have 5k miles on the truck and am getting 23 mpg in mixed driving. I do much better on freeway, but that is my all in number right now.

900 miles in. And I’m averaging 24.6

Bone stock Ecodiesel. Averaging 27 mpg. Hit 31 mpg on Friday by the time I filled up and averaged it out mathematically. It was 28.4

How accurate is this? Should I push it the 18 miles home? Or fill up at the closest fuel station? How far have you driven beyond this? If any of you have.

I'll find out tonight. I have one small hill and then mostly flat highway. Fuel station is about 16 miles from work.

So last night got to work. Fuel gauge said.

I was curious what the accuracy of it was. I had 15 miles to get to the fuel station closest to home. I had 420 miles on the tank. Needed 15 more.

Got the 15 miles to the station. Filled up and to my surprise when the pump clicked off the first time....hell I still had half a gallon...or so....it clicked off at 17.66 and I stuffed a bit more in. All in all I don't think I need to push it any farther than that.
