I am running the Falcon adjustable piggi bags. When you finished developing the straps please let me know so I can order a pair.
We've spoken to our friends at Falcon about this issue, it seems they are aware that the 3.3 shocks rated for 3.5" to 4" of lift allow for a little bit too much travel and are causing coils to unseat. Limiting straps are an easy fix, and I do believe they are working on their own solutions as well. We will update here when limiting straps are available!

Can you guys both do me a favor and let me know what shocks you're running, and also if you can measure your rear sway bar end links from center to center and let me know what length they're at? We'd greatly appreciate it! We are also looking into making our own limiting straps pretty soon since this seems like a common issue for JT's with 3.5"s of lift. Thanks!
Hi James, I recently ordered the 2.5" Overland kit from you guys. Not installed yet, but I was wondering if you have seen this with this kit? I got 1x COR-3010025, 1x FOX-5110002. Thanks!

No you shouldn't have an issue! Seems to be more of an issue on the 3.5" kits due to the extra travel shocks in this range provide on these trucks.

I have the fox shocks. I don't currently have the truck so can't measure just yet.

For the Clayton 3.5" Overland Plus kit, the rear length for the Falcon SP2 3.3 is 32.3", and the front is 28.4". I am assuming the issue with the coils unseating is only for the rear, not the front. Correct ?

Running the 3.5-4” Fox shocks and end links are right at 15” center to center

This is also an issue we suspected might be adding to the problem. It seems that a lot of shops during the install are not cutting the rear end links down to the recommended length. Most likely this is due to how little needs to be taken off, about 1/4" off each side, resulting in a rod that would be about 14 5/8" center to center when cut properly. If you're able to, try cutting the rear rod ends down about 1/2" and seeing if that helps! :like:

Hello, I am running the Falcon 2.2 3.3 adjustable shocks. I did not cut my rear end links stud. With the end links screwed all the way down as far as they can go, mine are at 15-1/4". They are currently parallel to the ground. I guess I should cut them down to 14-5/8" to help with the spring unseating issue ?

Hey @Graybeard. Going to use M.I.T also. I have always heard good things about that shop. We used to do a lot of lifts in my garage, but I decided to farm this one out. Also doing Clayton but a 2.5". Talked to Kenny, he sounded very competent. What was your experience?

@Clayton Off Road -- just to clarify: what shock size do you guys recommend for 3.5" lift kit front/rear: specifically shock size collapsed & max extended? i didn't see that information on your website.

32.5" extended seems like a lot, I was a looking at the fox 2.5 series 3.5-4" rear and those go to 30.32" at max extension which i'm guessing would prevent the axle from drooping more and unseating the spring

Any updates to this or revisions on the lifts? Was looking at a Clayton 3.5 and the RK for my new 2022 and pretty much decided on Clayton until I just saw the issues with these

Sorry for the late response! You've probably already had your Jeep done but I thought I would comment on M.I.T.. I've had good e periences with MIT. I had an 84 CJ5 that they worked on and now my Gladiator. I have no complaints, they are very competent and customer oriented. I would definitely recommend this shop. I hope everything worked out well and again I apologize for the late response. I never got alerted to your post for some reason.

Hello! Just to clarify, this isn't an issue with the lift or springs, it's actually a problem we were made aware of by shock manufacturers due to certain shocks allowing for too much up-travel and allowing coils to come unseated. Falcon recommends stepping down to their 2-3" shocks even with a 3.5" lift on the Gladiators, and now actually sells a spring retainer kit as well to help remedy the issue. Limiting straps are also an easy fix to the problem and work great!
