Well I have developed the dreaded rear window leak and I am taking it to the dealership this evening to leave for their "diagnosis". It was a certified preowned with extended warranty, however when questioned if the leak would fall under their covered repairs they could not confirm or would not deny it. Obviously, because they don't know where it's coming from until they look at it.

I have reviewed the threads on here and even purchased some silicone piping as I was going to just fix it myself. But decided that I would see what course they offered me before tackling the piping.

I bought my 2021 without anything except the std transferable factory warranty..my dealer said bring it in as its covered.

Question I have has anyone had it done and did it stop the leak? Seems easier to just seal around it with Sikaflex 715 and call it a day.

If covered have dealer take care of it. I found that it stopped leaking for a couple years and then a much smaller leak easily fixed with the silicone hose

Mine is leading across the very top of the big glass. Even though the warranty plainly states front and rear window are covered by 3 years 36k warranty. I'm being told it's out of warranty. They've had my jeep for a month come Wednesday and the only thing the dealership has completed was to verify that it does leak. I'm headed to get it today and have called customer care to get verification on the warranty and see what happens.

My jeep is a 21 and only has about 17k on it.

Yeah, sounds like that dealer just does not want the warranty pay on the job because they will probably farm it out anyways to a glass company.

My 2022 Mojave rear window started to leak in December . Was covered under warrantee. Dealer just replaced with a complete new hardtop. I’m lucky to have an awesome dealership. I told them I didn’t want the window smashed out and replaced with new seals like I have read on here. So I asked for a new hardtop and they said no problem only took 2 weeks for new one to arrive and they put me in a loaner while they kept my jeep in the shop to keep it dry.

I got the call today that they are going to attempt to cut out the window and replace the seal or "reseal" the window. They have contracted out to a glass company and it is supposed to be completed on Thursday.

I expecting the worst with either scratches in the painted hardtop or either busted glass and a continued leak.

Interesting. Most times it is the frame that cracks and the whole window assembly needs to be replace. I do not think the rear window is conducive to being removed and reinstalled.

I have my doubts they can remove it and salvage it. In most cases, the window installers have to get medieval on the removal and destroy it.

Mine was covered at the end of my warranty. Took it in and they found a leak, just like I had said. They contracted out to a local glass company to replace (as most do these days) Took a week for new glass to arrive. Took one day for glass tech to shatter the new glass and lacerate his hand and an emergency trip to ER as he had cut the main artery. Another week for another new rear glass and 2 days for same tech to install. When I picked it up I did a cursory overview of the work. Found the tech hadn't attached either wiring attachment and one still had a glass shard attached. Also glass shards all in the back carpet, seats and bed. Asked about them cleaning out all they missed and they said "sure" let's schedule for another trip there to be taken to new sale prep department. I said no thanks, I have a better vacuum cleaner than they have and left after issuing my complaint and dissatisfaction with the glass and cleanup.

They have glass in stock so maybe if the tech does go hulk on it, I won't have to wait another month for glass to come in and get it fixed.

I had that issue. They initially replaced the rear window (using a auto glass specialist company) but, could not get all the water out from inside the roof so, I INSISTED they replace the roof because that water inside could freeze, and expand in the winter, and crack the roof, making things worse.

They did replace the whole roof (took about a month and a half to get a new one) and had to re-do the rear window with a new one because they usually break upon trying to remove them.

This was in late '20/early '21 and I only had mine since I took delivery (ordered 5/19, built 6/19) July on 2019.

These things happen ☹ ☹ ☹

Can someone explain the silicone add resolution, or the "rope" gasket material. I noticed a small drop of water on the sill inside the window area. Screw the dealer fixes, i want to just fix it myself
