While messing around outside today, I checked both our Jeeps. Easy peasy on the diesels. Both look good to me.
I'll still get them in for inspection, but I'm even less worried than I was before.

Just dropped mine in at the dealership 2 minutes ago. Service advisor said they didn’t even know exactly what they were looking for but they’d take a look and document it. Fills me full of confidence. As long as I get a piece of paper from a Jeep dealership saying that it’s been looked at and evaluated I’m ok with it. That way if it gets cleared and then burns down due to this issue I have some sort of ammo for later.

Not surprised they couldn't be bothered to READ the detailed instructions Jeep provided.

Had a recent equipment fire at one of our plants, and researching a product that would extinguish at the source without spending a ton of money. I will be looking for a suitable place to mount one of these inside the Gladiator engine compartment. Cheap, inexpensive, and apparently very effective in extinguishing fires (see videos); actually more effective than a Halatron fire suppression system, and even safer on the electrical components. https://ferosticker.com/

Mine passed d inspection. Service advisor said they just got the update in their system last night and it was exactly as id explained it to them briefly. 1 less thing to worry about.
If you trust they did the inspection.

honestly, I don’t care if they did or not. I’ve already looked at it and I saw no problems. I just wanted the piece of paper they give you that says that it was inspected and there are no problems so when it burns down due to that issue it shows I did my due diligence in getting a known problem corrected. Now that the recall has been posted and is public knowledge it can be argued in court that the responsibility to get the issue corrected lies with the owner of the vehicle and not the manufacturer. Is that how it will actually work? I have no idea but I can see the legal beagles pulling something like that so I’m pulling that carpet out.

Honestly, I forgot to even look at mine and then parked under my carport three feet from the back door of my house last night.

Guess I'm not ate up about it yet.

They inspected mine and are ordering parts. My dealer is not the best, I am sure it only needs to be in a day, so that means they will have it a week. This is why I won't consider any of the other jeep/dodge products for my wife. We are literally getting something in the next month. Loss of a sale due to crappy service.

It's extremely dealer dependent I've found.

The last recall I had done on a Jeep (moving the airbag harness on a JK) was a same day drop off and pickup.

AC compressor on my 2013 Camaro went out under warranty. Same day in and out, and they even had to lift the engine up a few inches to get the compressor out. The front struts on that car was also same day in and out (free replacement via Technical Service Bulletin).

About an hour in total. I was about 8-9 vehicles back when I arrived at 0710. Appt. at 0730.

Apparently from eavesdropping they’ve had issues getting parts in to do repairs. A couple technicians were at the “water cooler” talking about all these cars to fix but no work could be done other than diagnoses.

Not the problem my dealer is having. They got my part in on the 3rd and did not start on it until the 9th. Depends on the parts also, transmission 2-3 days here which I hear is normal. Valve body, ack order and upto 2 weeks.
