I have a friend with a JLU extreme recon. Maybe he can answer whether it’s confirmed that they’re lifted. It’s his wife’s jeep. Does your red one have a lift @tredzlitely? Do you find that her tailgate closes more difficultly than on your yellow one? I’d guess it’s the opposite.

My gut suggests the "35" tire suspension" is in fact a 2" MOPAR lift kit from the factory.
2" lift
1" for the added tire height
3" total taller than a stock JLU Rubicon with stock 33s

My bet - we have to refuse this one and order again - this time skipping the full time transfer case, and she just realizes, it's a 2 wheel drive vehicle, unlike her prior Jeeps that were always ready with 4 wheel drive in slick conditions.

My wife has a 2022 xtreme recon edition complete with 35” tires, 2” Mopar lift, and 4.56 gears. We have had no real issues with the tailgate. It does take a firm push to shut. It does not just “slide” shut so to speak.

I wouldn’t get rid of my 4hi auto for anything. Game changing in my opinion.

Thanks, dude! That confirms his suspicion.

My wife has suggested ideas -

Strip off the 35s, put 33s on it and see how it sits (getting rid of the tailgate reinforcement crap and spare relocation bits) and see how it goes........

otherwise

Order again this time stressing even MORE firmly - NO RECON, no 35" and no lift, and just go with the part time transfer case.

The problem with the JLU is also - it's almost impossible to get them all body color. They seem to love to bundle the black roofs and fenders.
That I know is a total NO

Or
Keep what she's got and let them sell it to someone else

Must be reign
Must be all body color - black just doesn't look right on the reign, and she hates the black roof and fenders anyway. She can't stand them
Power seats
All available safety packages, auto high beam and so on
She said that if we can't get something like she wants with full time transfer case, we'll settle for part time. I'd have to teach her how to use it and we'd have to figure out how she could reach across to move the lever as they don't shift easily at all. (don't ever tell her she can't do something - someone once told her that there was no way she could ever swim with her arms as they are - she very quickly proved them wrong)
Didn't you order her the X package? That should automatically come with the body color roof and fenders. The order guide doesn't even show black as a option (but then it also doesn't seem to show the xtreme package as an option). The overall gearing by swapping to 33s wouldn't be bad. Really it's about the same as a max tow Sport. the added lift might be an issue. As for the full time transfer case, I guess I haven't been following close enough? I don't even see that listed as a option any more in the order guide?

Just found out that the X package in the JLU includes the 35" tire package - and that it does include a 1.5" lift. So that's 2.5" taller than the one she has.
Not acceptable.
Why does jeep keep this a secret??
and why don't sales people and others know all of this?
Jeep is really making it messy to order a JLU these days.

Jeep doesn't show that on the build site, or the technical specs site. Most important, it's buried and not obvious in the order guide. The order guide does not list it as P (part of a package), nor does it include an option code. It's not listed in the X package contents.
Where is it listed then? With the engine/transmission selection! WHY?

Her current, standard one, closes easily with just a gently push. From fully open to closed, one easy movement. So I'm wanting to keep the same easy-ness of closing for anything new. It closes smoothly, and latches perfectly, and no leaks.
I can't imagine the 4.56 or whatever it is ratio with 33s, I think that, and the lift (which the sale guy argued the 35 setup isn't really lifted - yeah, it is. I'd bet it's the same sort of lift they sell as a 2" lift kit and they gets you 2" over stock height on a Rubicon.
So add a lift, and the roughly (very roughly) 1" lift the 35s vs 33s would give it, you are talking I bet about 3" higher total.
2" for the lift, 1" for the tires, vs. stock height with 33s.
It's closer to 1-1.5" of lift. And the front bump stop towers are longer so you can't lower it without cutting and fabricating new towers or it will ride on the bumpstops. Our 2022 started or as an xr before they started calling it the extreme 35" tire package. If she doesn't want the extra height I wouldn't get the package. If you drop to 33s it will still be 1-1.5" taller than the current one.

Yea, I looked as well - and I see nothing obviously saying that the Rubicon X includes 35" tires, etc, but I can find odd and ends on Google saying 'Why yes of course it includes 35" tires by default', lol.

What a mess. Well, nobody made a mistake except for Jeep being vague...

My girlfriend's Willys XR on 35s next to my stock Mojave at 33s, I can see about 1-1.5 inches of difference in her favor, so I'm going to say with the 1 in higher tire that she's at about a 2-inch lift overall

Yeah, the ONLY place I could find it is that little "includes 35 inch tires" when you select the automatic transmission for the X package. And that just says tires. So is it possible that it JUST has 35" tires without all the other xtreme package stuff? If that were the case, I'm sure someone (or even the dealer) would swap wheels/tires.

The Rubicon X gets the whole kit I believe, it's just hard to find the details.

Here is a Rubicon X for sale near me.

https://www.lakeshorekenner.com/new-Kenner-2026-Jeep-WRANGLER-4+DOOR+RUBICON+X-1C4RJXFG3TW171893

Check out the window sticker (the button is below the pictures). It calls out for all of the XR type stuff (except for a lift, but this thing looks obviously higher than a typical Rubicon to me) but its all under the 24Y package. No additional options.

I sure do miss the old days when virtually EVERY option could could be had ala carte if you wanted, no matter how weird, or how it might impact the future resale. (think things like muscle cars with bench seats and column shifters, and mom-mobiles with big blocks and 4 on the floor)

In this case, it appears that on a 2026 Rubicon Wrangler, you can get body color fenders and hard top with the m/t, but not with the a/t?
In what world does that make any sense at all?

Mojave has a 1" higher stance in the front than the other Gladiators - that's why it looks so much more level, has pretty much no rake.

Jeep has really screwed this all up, but like my sales guy said this AM - the recon package is selling like hotcakes, it's extremely popular. They had one guy who wanted one last month and didn't want to wait so they got one from KC for him. They sell almost as fast as they come in.
But Jeep has made it all confusing and messy and not making anything clear to customers. Order stripes and you lose the transmission choice, order this, and you lose these three things.
Apparently, you can't get the Rubicon X JLU without the whole shooting match and everything that comes with it. I can't even seem to build one that is all body color. It's just not possible with an automatic and 3.6 engine (or even the turbo 4 which I'd take without problem in her vehicle)
