Coming from somebody that has kids and still would opt for the 2 door...interesting. It does look better. The proportions are off on the4 door and the way the rear doors are will be a nightmare for the backseat anyway.
Nightmare? Come on - at least try to be a little bit realistic. The doors are fine for rear seat access. They could be better, but it's not as if the cut off corner blocks access to the entire rear footwell or anything, it's mostly where the seat is. It's not any worse than the JL, and I've never heard anyone call that back seat access a *nightmare*....

Even if Jeep never produces a 2 door, I hope the J6 concept creates enough buzz for them to come out with an official MOPAR conversion package.

DV8 already makes a package for the JK which runs about $7,000. Obviously the fit and finish of a MOPAR conversion would be better, and they can use Gladiator parts which are already in production. Even if they charged $10-15k I would think they'd sell a decent amount, myself included.

Satisfies the 2 door fanboys. Cheaper than a Gladiator. Jeep makes bank on conversion kits. Seems like the best and most plausible option to me!

I still believe the Wrangler would never have died. Mark Allen just said that to boast about the 4 door. I believe with the revamp to the Jk they would have sold a shit ton of 2 door Wranglers without the option of 4 door. I do think it was a great idea none the less. This vehicle has been around a long time and I just think there is no way they would have killed off the Wrangler project. My 2 cents... Also I am sorry I called you crazy:)

Again I’m reading everybody’s comments online; on this forum and other sites and they seem pretty optimistic about the idea of a 2 door. This is just simply your opinion and my opinion. It’s nothing to get bent out of shape about, and for the same reasons you opted for a 4 door vechile I am the complete opposite. I drive a regular cab ranger right now as my daily and my fiancé and my lab have all the room we need. There’s a market for it, and it may not be the truck that you would like, but there’s a bunch of potential buyers out there that want this. Unless they are just wasting their time typing endless pages of BS all over the internet lol. If they are they have way more time on their hands then I do that’s for sure.
But that's just the thing - it's not one opinion versus another. Your opinion is based on a wish. Our opinion is based on what Jeep has said directly about the reaction to the J6 (https://www.thedrive.com/news/27336...CsPzi2nFk6BHU_22PtalhxLtLKejQVUaLFlZIErQ0VZzg)

I agree that aesthetically the J6 is much more appealing than the gladiator. But Jeep has said they won't build it.

And the J6 is not just a 2-door. It's a regular cab. so you can't even compare it to the 2-door Wrangler. The market for a regular cab off-road oriented premium-priced mid-size truck is basically non-existent. For a point of comparison you can look at Tacoma regular cab sales and Colorado regular cab sales. Spoiler alert - they don't exist.

The J6 is the kind of vehicle everyone drools over but no one actually buys.

I agree, the Wrangler is an iconic design that represents the Jeep brand. It is what non jeep people understand to be a jeep. Many people have no idea what an fj is and some even mistake the original fj's for jeeps. The FJ was an unoriginal copy of the jeep that did not define Toyota as a company the way the willys, cj's, and wranglers defines the Jeep brand today.

How would a gladiator + a 10k conversion kit be ‘cheaper than a gladiator’?

Myself and plenty of other people I know would never have bought a wrangler if it weren’t for the JKU. I tried to figure out a way to make the TJU work, but it was just too small for my life at the time - same goes for most of my Jeep owning friends.

I still to this day can’t call a 4 door jeep a “jeep”. I’d rather have a grand Cherokee if I had to have 4 doors vs buying a 4 door wrangler. This can be debated for eternity and it all boils down to personal preference and OPINIONS nobody can sway somebody’s opinion if they like or dislike a 4 door gladiator. The 2 door looks great and would function incredibly well for my lifestyle and it appears like a bunch of others on this site that have kids and don’t have kids. Will they make it? I have no idea I don’t work for jeep, but I can tell you this much the feedback they will be getting will definitely swing in the right direction for adding a 2 door or extended cab.

The conversion kit would be for a JLU, since that's what the J6 is built on. By the time such a hypothetical kit would be released, a used JLU + $10k kit would still be less than a brand new Gladiator Sport.

Get a JLU, fabricate a new hard top, fold rear seats down. You now have a 2 door Jeep Truck lol.

And a used 1998 Honda Civic Hatchback can be modded with $10k and run a 1/4 Side-by-side with a new Hellcat for less money. Plus, it’ll haul more plywood.

A NEW JLU with a $10k kit, turned into a truck will cost more than a Gladiator... this is why JK8’s and Brutes, and all the other JK truck conversions were so expensive.
