Hey guys,

I am looking at the Clayton overland plus lifts 2.5 and 3.5, but in contrast to MC they do not mention the beed for a drive shaft on their kits. So for those of you who have the Clayton lifts installed which kit do you have and did you replaced or are you planning to replace the drive shaft?

I don’t have the Clayton lift, but the need for a new driveshaft is dependent on front shock length. Since Clayton doesn’t supply shocks with their lifts, it will depend on what shocks you choose. Generally, if you use front shocks with an extended length over 28.5”, you need an aftermarket driveshaft.

What Renegade said.

I have a Rock Krawler 3" no limits kit. Front shocks have a 29.5" extended travel and I had to replace my front driveshaft since the joint boot was split and torn after my last outing.

Currently have the Clayton 2.5 Overland Plus kit with stock Fox Mojave shocks. I am running a shock extension with limiting straps to project from over extending. Upgrading to Kings if they will ever come off back order at that point I will remove the extensions and upgrade both the front and rear driveshafts. So far the set up is with in specs on angles and performs well for the wheeling it has seen in CO & UT.
