If they removed the Tazer, I would think the vehicle would return to the state it was before. If unmarried anyhow.

You mentioned Jscan. Couldn't you just set it back to always off with that?
JScan doesn't have that option from what I've seen

I wouldn't know. Someone else said the same.

This is what I read:

  1. Connect to your vehicle in JScan.
  2. Go to Adaptation > Auto Stop/Start (ESS) Settings and see the following: Auto Start/Stop On/Off - disable this setting to stop the ECU from monitoring the Hood Ajar switch. Note. This will also disable Remote Start feature. ...
  3. Disconnect JScan.
  4. Turn the vehicle OFF.

Thanks man. Just found it. The only thing I don't like is by diabling both settings the Remote Start will not work. Or am I reading it wrong?

Interestingly, I headed over to the drive-thru car wash this afternoon to get all that dried up crusty salt and snow slush off the Jeep and noticed it did not shut off while waiting. I'll know more tomorrow when I head to work.

Did the stop start display say anything, like battery charging or engine not warm enough? Did it say ready and not shut off? Could it be you didn't press the brake hard enough?

Sounds like they didn't charge the aux battery and the main charged it back it like it's supposed to once they replaced it. The same thing happened when my main got replaced and it took about 20 or 30 miles of driving for the ESS to kick back in and start working right.

I didn't check. It just dawned on me that it didn't shut off like it used to when I was almost home. I think I had the brake pedal pressed like I normally do. Maybe I have a light foot like I've read about here and never noticed.

My auto start stop was disabled when I bought the JT back in August, which I didn't hate. But, like I said in my earlier post, I don't mine pressing the button on the dash to disable it if necessary

I would of asked about how it got disabled because mine didn't work for about 2-1/2 months and I had nothing happening on the dash. Honestly I didn't even realize that it wasn't working until my wife said so thing about it. Then one day I went out to go to work and it's was dead. I charged it up and got it crank. Went on to work and had no warning signs on the dash. I drove it for another 3 or 4 weeks and then one day I had aux not charging warning sign or something on the dash. Took it auto zone who told me the aux battery was bad. Went to dealership to get them to replace it and they hooked it up to their machine and said the main battery was bad and the aux was good. I had the main replaced and haven't had anymore issues. That was 30,000 miles ago. My aux has almost 85,000 miles on it.

Just saying maybe the previous owner was rocking a bad main battery maybe. I went a 4-1/2 months riding with a main going bad.

I find it hard to believe that your stop start was not working without the battery charging message on the stop start page. Unless, like you said, you just didn't notice it. If it says stop start ready, it should work. Anything else displayed is why the stop start will not work. Battery charging message displayed for an extended period means exactly that. So you can hope the battery will charge with normal driving, you can charge the batteries yourself and reset the IBS. Or just replace your batteries.

I ran into an old friend that had a JT. After talking for a while I asked her out of curiosity if her stop start was working. She stated that she doesn't like it and turns it off. I asked her to try it. It didn't work. She didn't even know about the stop start menu page. Battery charging was the message. The dealer took care of it, she told me without any more details.
