Just installed today and I am pretty surprised at how loud they are. Looks great, works great, but man these things make some noise when they open and close. Anyone else think they are loud?

yep. I like the solid thunk of the step extending and retracting. They don't close if something is hung up in the step. The thunk is your signal that nothing is hung up in the step leaving it down to be ripped off while offroading.

Yeah they are pretty loud both going down and coming up. Mine seem to come down pretty hard it makes the steps shake but per RSE over time the motor will slow down a bit. I've gotten used to it now but I wish it was smoother operating.

I'm considering a set but they look to short to serve the back seat, true or just my perception?

Thanks

They can catch people by surprise when you open the door. They come down pretty aggressively. Had a few people get whacked in the shin at shows. lol

I was being DD for a buddy a few weeks ago, and he walked into it as it came down. Usually, if an onstacle hits them, they just quit coming down- no big deal. In his case he connected mid stride with them right as the locked down, and he hit perfectly at the corner. Had a helluva goose egg... it was great. 😂

no they have plenty of space. You’re have to approach the seating at a pretty weird angle to even hesitate.
