What speakers do you all recommend for replacing the roll bar speakers? Preferably something I don’t have to cut away sheet metal or anything. I’ve got a Stinger Heigh10 radio and also don’t want to add an amp. Thanks!!

i just did some kicker CS series speakers on a BRZ and in the dash of the jeep, pretty good for th price, nice bass and clean mids and highs. I think you can make some 3.5" and 4" work in the rollbar mount.

did you use bass blockers on the upper or lower dash speakers?

I have done MB Quart 6x9 mod on both of my gladiators. You don't cut the "roll bar", you just cut out some plastic, just so we are on the same page. I use a zipper saw for that part. Install takes about an hour to do both sides. Mine are both Alpine upgrades, so I did have to cut the wires on the new speakers to split the tweeter from the woofer part to keep the channels separate, but that is no big deal.

i did not install any type of filters on either car. The tweeters of the CS have capacitors to filter out bass from the tweeters.

Select Increments JLJT Pods and an 6.5” speaker of your choice. No cutting. Call Crutchfield and speak with one of their specialists. I’ve had mine for a year and it improves the sound immensely. I have the 5” radio with Terra Acoustics sound stage up front.

Thank You!! Trying to get away from cutting anything. I wish Jeep would just put a decent sound system in from the get-go

I have some infinity 6x9's being delivered Friday. I just noticed your comment about cutting the wire to the tweeter. Did you do this to essentially bi-amplify your alpines? Is this necessary or will I be fine to just use the meta adapter and hook my new speakers up to existing 4" speaker wires?

should mention I have the standard 7" system.

thanks,

I can't speak to the standard system, but in the Alpine system, the original speakers are a component set on each side. One is a tweeter, other is a mid. To keep both channels separate, I wired the tweeter channel to the tweeter of the 6x9, which requires cutting and splicing accordingly.
