One traveler , give me a bit, after I put the spacers on I must have moved the cap back about 1/2" or more, did all the work inside and didn't think it moved but it means the door is too far towards the rear where the tailgate ramps up, we noticed that setting the cap the first time, too far back and door was harder to open, garage is almost warm enough.

Interested to see where everyone has been seating theirs - mine is pretty far back.

Local dealer installed mine today. I only notice a little styrofoam residue on the top leaving some white markings. Otherwise it looks flawless. I think I can get those out but with a lift and 37s most people won’t be seeing the top anyway. The dealer wasn’t aware of any of the issues mentioned here and didn’t think I had any clearance problems against the tailgate but I’ll keep an eye on it.

THAT'S THE PROBLEM! I'm trying to send a video, but looking at the tailgate you should be on the lowest most forward part which is about 1/4" lower then the rear, hatch works great! I agree they should send us each a drivers side half box for our Engineering talent......Jack1
Beeizebot's looks farther front also. Don't try to match the slope to tailgate end. Video thing is not working too well but basically I lined up the front edge of cap with the front edge of the bed cap, photo coming

That's what I did as well. The lip at the base of the front flange is exactly flush with the edge of the front bed cap.

These are what I was talking about, see where the cap gasket sits on the tailgate, also the front edge of cap lining up with the the front edge of bed plastic cap. I used the Clamp material cut in half and glued on top of the large hard squares, at the three clamp locations and two at tailgate corner, I then added one more piece of the clamp material to both rear clamp locations and the two at tailgate corners. After fitting it on. Hope this helps One Traveler!......Jack

Personally, I liked mine further back where it looks close to flush with my tailgate. I found some 1/8" and 1/16" rubber gasket material at Ace and used that to lift my rear to 9/16"s and middle to 1/2", each time supergluing a square to the original 3/8" piece:

https://www.acehardware.com/departm...aucet-repair/faucet-and-valve-packing/4784153

Rechecked my clamps today and they had loosened, I expected this. Re-tightened and now I feel like I need to add another 1/8" to the back because the door is a little tight. No problems, not hard to do...

This is a great product... worth the small issues we have experienced (Extreme shipping damage aside). Could Keystone be better, of course.

My clamps didn't loosen much. I think only one of them had shifted a little. My front and rear flange bolts had loosened up significantly though. Probably a quarter of them were finger loose, and they were cranked down tight upon install. I recommend people check theirs out.

I'll be checking them a couple of times a month going forward, and may consider some blue loctite if I find them loose again.

Had to post a picture of a Blue Mojave sporting a fine cap, this is before I moved cap forward tonight!

Thanks! I’d say our placement was pretty close, but my gasket is way more compressed. Looks like I’ll be adding some material.

One Traveler, easiest way to get real hard rubber is to cut the six pieces of material that goes between the clamp and top to prevent scratches and movement, stick one on each top of the included squares at each clamp location and at rear corners to the added ones, then add aanother of the cut pieces to the two rear clamp pads and the two corner locations. I'm not sure they will settle much as the incuded pads have a high hardness rating. They make strips for uncer the clamps that are long enough to go over the edge an dalso up at the point on the wall, shoul db eno rubbing , an dthey can be any rube reven intertubes....................good luck.....jack

Mine is showing up today! My retailer gave me a call and said to refuse the shipment if there is any apparent damage. For those of you who had damage, I'm assuming it was clearly visible when the shipment arrived and not a surprise once unpacked?

Accd to tracking sent to me, mine is on the way. If I’m correct, they arrive in the states fro South Africa in NJ. Tracking shows it has been to K.C., then Chicago, now Indianapolis. I live in NC.. thats definitely going around your ass to get to your elbow. I’m fully expecting it to be damaged and will refuse to accept it if any damage is obvious. I would take it damaged if I didn’t already know that RSI has no parts available yet to address issues which is quite surprising. Having been in this type of industry in the past I can tell you for certain that there should have been a crate addressed to a US rep with spare panels and other parts included on the first boat over. But, I’ve watched this rollout since its inception and am not surprised with how any of this has played out. Unfortunately these days, companies spend more effort and money on social media hype than they do making sure the actual release goes smoothly.

December 22nd update it's getting pretty funny.
To recap (see what I did there?), I ordered my cap on August 3rd for a 6 week long trip to Maine at the end of November. Mid november I punted and bought a softopper for my trip (hope to sell it later). We drive to Maine, all goes well. On the 15th of December I get "the call". The cap is ready to ship on the 16th.
Talking with Andy from Offroad Alliance on the phone and I explain that I am in Maine, not Nashville so I need to change the shipping address. This is harder than it sounds, but Andy talks to the shipper and all is well, cap will ship from Pennsylvania to Maine.
At this point my OCD and anxiety start working overtime calculating how many shipping days there are between the 16th and the 31st when I depart. Also, how the hell do I install this thing without a garage, in Maine, in the winter...I'll deal with that later.
The next day I get a call from Dayton Freight and they would like to schedule a time to deliver my cap...in Nashville. I call the lady back and tell her that won't work because I'm in Maine. She agrees that that won't work then finds a note that says this cap is supposed to be rerouted to Maine...
Saturday morning I get an email from Andy at OA to update me. The cap is in Lebanon Tennessee but he is working on getting it sent to Maine.
Monday morning (yesterday) I spoke with Andy and suggested they just leave the cap where it is and I can pick it up on the 4th or 5th when I get back. Apparently frieght companies are cool with being in the shipping business, but they aint in the storage business.
Next we discussed having it delivered to a buddy's studio in Nashville. Unfortunately at this point the wheels are in motion and if we try to change anything my cap will slide over the event horizon.
I got an update text from Dayton this morning my cap is currently on its way to Cleveland (and then Maine?) so we shall see!
Through all this Andy with Offroad Alliance has been great. He is working hard to try to get me this cap. I've got nothing but love for OA.
I also realize I have a part in the cluster, leaving Nashville, but I couldn't predict when "the call" would come, and neither could anyone else...so it's a perfect storm.
I know there is some concern about how these guys weather travel...well mine will have been from New Jersey to Kansas City to Nashville to Maine. Not as far as Alaska but...
I am leaving here on the 31st, current ETA is listed as the 29th...
If it arrives after I leave, I will post "clues" here and whoever figures out it's location can come up here and retrieve it from our rental house's front yard.

Do you have Tennessee plates on your JT? Mainers must love that.... I have had a place in Maine for years, they have always disliked people “from away” but with the Corona virus they have ramped up their distain.
