I just had the Voyager installed yesterday. Shop told me I could not open it for 10 days. Any truth to this or can I fully open it today? Also do I need to get any extra straps to hold the back up? Thanks!

Did the shop say why you shouldn't open it for 10 days? Only reason I could see, if the temperature was below about 80 degrees when they installed it. The installation instructions say to let it sit in direct sunlight for a few hours before installation to aloow the fabric stretch. It makes it much easier to install. Maybe them telling you to wait 10 days is to make sure the fabric has had time to stretch to fit the jeep so it opens and closes with proper fit.

I had mine open hours after I installed it and have not seen any ill effects. It was 90 degrees that day when I first put it on last summer and it installed very easily when I put it back on last month.

I don't use any straps when I open the top fully and it stays fine on top of the sound bar tucked under the flipped open front section. I haven't driven with it fully open at highway speed only driving around town say 50 mph or less mostly. I think some people just wrap a couple of bungees around it for highway driving. I don't plan to test it at highway speeds since Rugged Ridge states on their website that it is not meant to be driven with the back open.

I am not putting mine on for a few weeks. It just got cold here again.....

It is this piece that anchors the freedom top. You need to remove it before installing the clip for the voyager top. If you just put the hook for the voyager top over this piece the front will not seal tight.

Wait so you remove the factory freedom panel latch and bolt the sunrider latches directly to the wind shield frame without this?

I don't own a Sunrider so I am not sure how it installs or operates.

On my Rugged Ridge top I don't think the instructions said to remove the Freedom top latch, but I could not get a good seal along the top of the windshield until I removed them. Once I removed the freedom top latches the seal was much better and wind noise greatly reduced.

The install video on RealTruck's website shows a good example of the install. Mine is still sitting in the box in the garage but I may finally get around to installing it soon after watching the video.

Just bought this second hand from a forum user... super good deal, nice guy. Looks great, install is a bit of a PITA. The wind noise at high speeds though... my lord, its loud.

I've never had a soft top so I don't know what level of noise is acceptable but damn, there's a wind whistle on the passenger front I can't get to go away no matter how much I adjust the clamps. I don't care personally, volume at 20 drowns out most of the noise. For long road trips I may swap back to the hard top... not sure if I'm going to keep it on or not.

Did you get the whistle on the passenger front figured out?

I had sealing issues with mine until I removed the plastic freedom panel attachment points and bolted the rugged ridge ones directly to the roll bar. Maybe try that.

I know one other member in another thread had to alter the door surround on his because it was not lining up correctly. Maybe check this out.

I tried removing the freedom panel latch but couldn't get a good seal. Once I reinstalled them and then the soft top latches, it worked fine. I get a very loud buffeting noise around 70-85 mph but I really on bought this to save my butt in a random rain storm. It keeps the water out and that's it's main use case for me. Realtruck is getting sneaky with the rebates. I'm going to talk to them at their tent at Bantom, I'm still shocked they put out such a half baked product. The rear straps that tie it down are clearly not made for this truck. The instructions suck donkey dick.

After some tweaking and stretching after it was nice and hot, its working great.

No whistling, vibrating, humming, etc nothing. Get a random hum every now and then at high speeds in a crosswind, but its a great top. I can't complain.

Worked on my install this weekend and I cannot for the life of me get the bottom of the rear window into the channel on the tub. The side pieces lock in just fine. Any ideas?

@jjdustr340 @GHWillys @RoamingGladiator @blau iii any ideas? I sent an e-mail to @RealTruck support but open to any tips if you guys have them. Leaving for a long weekend of wheeling on Thursday so hoping to get it squared away asap.

Do you have the upper straps pulled tight? Leave them loose, put the bottom in and then pull the upper straps tight. Lastly, to the freedom panel latches. That's the order I go in after putting the side panels on.

First, I attach the top window straps loosely then I zip in one side of the window. After the first side is zipped I line up the top of each velcro strip and pull across the top as tight as I can to line up the zipper on the second side.(Still can never get the second side to fully zip closed at the bottom.) Then I will put the tab in the channel and zip the second side. After it is zipped I pull the top straps tight. Hope this helps!

Thanks both for the tips. I've given myself plenty of slack with the straps. It's like the channel on the tub isn't big enough for the hard plastic at the bottom of the window. The only theory I can come up with is maybe the previous owner tourqued down the hardtop enough to close the gap a little, if that's even possible? I tried a little lithium grease pushed until my fingers were aching yesterday and couldn't get it in. It's too hot and humid in South Carolina right now to deal with this. 🥵

Can you take the straps completely off and put the channel in first? It's hard to describe but there's a plastic lip that bits into the truck belt line. for the side pieces, I have to kinda coax it into the slot.
