I personally would snatch that thing out as fast as I could!, It’s a tracking device put on by dealers to track your every move, destination, travel, acceleration, braking, total invasion of privacy. I even went into my head unit and removed the capability to “phone home”

I agree with the others, wiping down the sides of the tailights should work. That said I've never done it as the triangles being lit up doesn't bother me and I'll just run it through the car wash in a few days. Rough ride home? Seems overly sensitive? Not like it's some audible chime going off constantly or it's effecting the driveability in the least bit.

The one driving nanny I really hate is when a car turns off the road in front of you and when you plainly have plenty of room? The brakes apply by ghost and alarms go off!

I am very sensitive and tender also, but I did have warning beeps the whole way home and no matter what I had my dash set to it would revert to showing me the warning.

In addition to being able to completely turn off the blind spot monitoring in your Uconnect's setup menu that I mentioned earlier, there's also an option to turn off just the audible warning if you so choose.

As stated in my original post I did turn the button off with no affect. It was suggested to me to turn that button off BEFORE I go offroad which I haven't had a chance to try yet.

On the UConnect thing I didn't know that was an option until this thread. My JKU had the old radio that was plain jane with a CD player. As a matter of fact it was the exact same radio as my '06 Ram and '04 Rubicon. I guess I need to explore the UConnect more to see what it will and won't do.

I keep vehicles much longer than my wife so I never got electric doo dads on my vehicles to avoid gremlins. My wife gets everything fully loaded but they've never been Chrysler products so I guess I just don't know the ins and outs of their electronics yet.

When tax season is over I'll go thru my manual and try to educate myself on what UConnect will do. It took me two weeks to figure out I could set the HVAC on a temp instead of relying on fan speed. It wasn't like I was trying to figure it out and couldn't, I just didn't know it was an option and I kinda fell into it by accident.

The button you pressed is for the park assist system. That system only acts as a proximity warning for when you are in reverse to hopefully prevent you from backing into somebody or something. As stated in my I answer to your question last Friday, there is no button to press to address the problem you complained about in your first post. The ONLY place you can control the blind spot monitor system is via your Uconnect.

OK, I see the disconnect - I may not have explained it well, my orange triangles stayed on the whole trip home and like you said not super intrusive. My issue was my parking sensors kept beeping at me the whole way home on the interstate and even turning the button off wouldn't stop the alarms the whole way home. I thought you were explaining to me how to turn them off in UConnect.

We even stopped and had dinner and when we finished eating and started driving home, we had the alarms the whole way home. When I got home and parked it over night and got up to go to the office the next morning it had stopped and hasn't done it since. I didn't clean anything and it didn't rain and it's been so dry here we haven't even had dew.

Hopefully it was a one time anomoly.

I don't have anything to help the OP - but this reminds me, my buddy has a 2016 GMC Sierra Denali 2500 and was complaining to me one time that the mirrors point down to the ground / rear of the truck in reverse and he hates that. Keep in mind he had this truck like two years at this point - just living with it. He bought it used. This interaction was maybe last year some time.

The next time we were stopped somewhere I go into the MyLink screen (GM version of UConnect at the time) and go to vehicle settings and there it is. Turn off tilt mirror in reverse.

I’m trying to research in between tax returns. I did finish all my Corporate returns on today’s deadline and plan on taking a day off tomorrow to catch up on some sleep. I started tracing the wire and OBDII looking thing that someone above told me to take out.

Getting in and looking I found this and it looks like they should be plugged together.

Then I traced the other end to behind that panel underneath the steering wheel and found this.

Looks like a Spireon tracking device.
