How do you like the ride/handling of the AEV spacer lift?
Like it a lot actually. Ill probably be going to the AEV Dualsport 2.5 eventually. But not because I'm unhappy with the spacer lift. I just want a full out suspension lift versus the spacer since it comes with new shocks and springs tuned specifically for the JTs and JLs. But been happy with the spacer lift thus far. Sits nice. Even with getting the slight factory rake back.

I had an AEV spacer lift on my JK and lived with it for years before going to a Dual sport 2.5. It performed very well on and off road for the 110k miles or so that I had it. I like the Dualsport better because it's got more lift, but otherwise they didn't ride too differently, at least on the JK. That's why I asked. I'd certainly consider the spacer lift on my JT.

I always seem to come back to your build thread, love the subtle but impactful mods, Sarge. I gotta ask, how in the heck to you keep those wheels clean with all that is going on with them?
Also with the 0 offset did you keep the spacers on?

Thanks man. Appreciate it. Sleek, practical and not overly done is my whole concept and focus. As far as the wheels they actually stay relatively clean (except when I've specifically taken it off-roading). However even with that said, I haven't done any major off-roading with these wheels since having them for the most part. 2 occasions in sand and another time with just moderate forest trails. My previous Windrock and Redbird SRA mud fests for example, I had my old wheels which I didn't care as much about although I still took care of them. So I try to be mindful when wheeling best I can and keep them mainly from getting rock rash since they're new but I'm sure it's bound to happen eventually even the slightest. Dirt and mud I'm obviously not as worried about although deep cleaning them can be a chore.

But under normal conditions they actually aren't too bad to manage considering how mesh-like they are. Usually just taking a soapy sponge gets most of it. But the smaller outer holes and detailed areas definitely take a little bit more tedious work if I want to get them really spiffy. Overall, I love the look of them though. By far my favorite, and Black Rhino has dropped a lot of heat in the last year too.

Since they're 0 offset I ditched the spacers I had on my stock wheels. It's the same equivalent amount of poke without them and I didn't want anything extra. It would have been more than my liking.

thanks, I talked with a wheel guy at Extreme Terrain and he explained to me how to take into account what my OEM Overland wheels are with my 1.75" spacer. With all of that, doing the math puts me at a 0 offset, which is what you found too. This is what I'll specify when ordering new wheels. When I was looking at the Fuel Coverts I found a set of Black Rhino's Shredder wheels in the last couple of days that I really like, but, man, those may require a little more attention to keep clean.

Exceed Fabrication SD1 Tube Doors installed. Besides the little promo video below, I also did a full review of them on my YT channel if anyone is interested in them. Solid doors.

Thank you so much for posting your experience and information on this. I've got a 2020 Overland as well, and the stock tires are needing to be replaced.

I've been back and forth on getting Willys or Rubicon takeoffs, but this seems to be a more interesting route.

When you changed out for the Rubicon suspension, did you do both shocks and springs, or start with one piece of the suspension first?

Keep up the great work with your build!!

Thanks, appreciate it.

As far as adding the Rubicon suspension yes I went with the shocks and springs only at the same time. I later added a front leveling kit (which I have since got rid of for a full front and rear 2" spacer lift). But even now with that, I still have the Rubicon take off shocks and springs until I get my full out suspension lift which will come with new springs and shocks. But for now, its been a great way to get a better suspension and not break the bank.
