Second Jeep, Second Major Issue…

I just wanted to share my story and see if anyone has had a similar experience.


Owning a Jeep has been a dream of mine for a long time. After working toward it, I finally got a Gladiator.


Originally, I leased a Wrangler Rubicon 4xe, but it started shutting off while I was driving. I spent about six months dealing with the issue, and the Jeep was in and out of the dealership for nearly two of those months. In the end, it qualified as a lemon, and I received a buyback.


After that, I got a Gladiator because I still loved Jeeps. To be honest, I chose to lease instead of buy because I was a little worried after what happened with my previous vehicle.


Unfortunately, this Gladiator has already been back to the dealership for a metal grinding noise and brake-related issues.


I really love this truck. Every time I look at it, I smile. But after going through all of this, I keep asking myself, “Is this really the right vehicle for me?”


I’m feeling pretty frustrated and disappointed. Has anyone else gone through something similar? I’d really appreciate hearing your experiences or advice.

You thinking about giving up on your jeep over a grinding noise that could be brake related ?
Dude, I have done way way more than that and fixed almost it all by myself along with my older uncle assisting.
There is nothing on these if elbow grease is applied and a you tube video that you cant tackle. Dont give up you got this .

Currently dealing with it, my Gladiator has been in for over a month now for the transmission. The problem is how long every little step takes. They do a relearn, 2 days later that did not fix it. Star ticket, 2 days later they want a Valve body replaced, and it is on back order. Gets in early BUT they take a week to put the valve body in. They declare it fixed at close of biz Friday. I get it Monday, and it is STILL having issues. Take it back the next day. They flash the PCM for a TSB, after 2 days or so, testing and still not working. Now the tech is out on a Family emergency and Stellantis wants more infromation on the Star ticket.

I get things may not be fully right from the factory, but how you handle it is what matters. And Jeep has handled this very badly.

So we are purchasing another vehicle for my wife this weekend. I refused to look at Jeep products for her after this. How you treat me and my issues matter.

Just get another transmission .

Sucks that you've had bad luck with both your Jeeps. My advise would be to find a 2023 Diesel Gladiator with low miles and buy it.

I'm still second guessing myself about not purchasing the leftover 2023 Gladiators in 2024 when they were heavily discounting them. I purchased a Rubicon instead (very happy with it) but remember one local dealer was advertising several diesels in stock right around 40k, a little less than my 3.6 Rubicon.

I usually keep my vehicles a long time (I have three Jeeps, one is a '99 TJ) and have always heard that diesels are more difficult and expensive to maintain, so I went with the 3.6.

Who knows what I would be saying now if I had purchased the diesel?

As with any vehicle, its the luck of the draw. So who knows if you'd have been happy or not with the diesel.

I did buy one of the discounted 2023 Diesel's in April of 24. I went with a Diesel Rubicon Farout edition which was $20,000 below MSRP. But it wasn't cheap, paid $57,000. No chance in hell I would have bought it for the full $73,135.00 sticker price. So far so good, I really love it.
