My Rubi had "Service 4WD" followed by "Swaybar disconnect not available" - obviously your Sport won't have the swaybar message. I started noticing these coming on when the "2H" in my 2H-4H-N-4L indicator started flickering occasionally. Over a few weeks it became more frequent. Eventually took it to get serviced (it was a busy summer... Jeep was working hard).

Ended up being a switch on top of the transfer case - I think it was part number 5083138AA. Probably could have fixed it myself but I didn't know what I was getting into at the time and everything was still under warranty. Dealer's service dept was great - Foss - fixed, resolved. Maybe have them check that part.
Word for Word this is exactly what has been happening to my Manuel Rubicon… Started noticing the foil drive selector flickering and intermittent service four-wheel-drive with a swaybar disconnect note. I am at approximately 47,000 miles and no issues to date. Has this issue presented itself again after being fixed?

I've driven for 6 months since the fix, I would guess around 8-10K miles, and no problems of any kind since then. I'm at 35K miles now.

Very pleased with Foss Motors sales and service depts, which is why I've stuck with them for 18 years or so now.

I’ve had mine in three times for this and they haven’t fixed it. Overland, so just the service 4wd light. It happens randomly and goes away on it own when it happens. Usually after several key cycles. It does what you described plus the back up sensors also quick working for some reason

I can't tell from your note - can you clarify: do you know if they replaced the switch on top of the transfer case?

They haven’t done a damn thing. They’re clueless if the light isn’t on when it comes in.

My service 4wd light keeps coming on intermittently. My dealership is awful and won’t try to fix it because there isn’t a code and they don’t try to diagnose or fix anything unless their scan tool tells them what to do. I’ve brought it in for this and the awful noises coming from my rear end three times now and they keep giving me the “could not duplicate”. I just opened a case with Jeep. I hope they help. I’m beyond frustrated. The rear end noises are painfully obvious if you just drive it across the parking lot and I even gave them videos and they don’t care.
EXACTLY what I've been dealing with since I had under 5k miles on my Gladiator... Now at 85k. Been to 3 dealerships and they just scan it, say they can't duplicate it and give me my Jeep back a week later...

I wish they would teach the techs how to actually diagnose problems

Have you taken it in with a active service 4WD indication?

Nope ... The message only pops up for a few seconds...
Along with random "Service swar bar disconnect system" and "service axle locker system".

It actually finally registered a code for the sway bar system last month.
But, they won't cover it under warranty... Even though I've had these messages since under 5k miles. I just got info from the dealership this morning on whom to call to fight this warranty denial for a problem I've had since my first oil change (even though I'm at 85k miles now).

Not excusing it, but the worst thing to try and fix is a problem that does not stay broke or is readily repeatable to induce the fault. Their warranty reimbursement model does not allow the deep dive for such issues. Not right, but it is what it is. You may have to find a good diagnostician on your own dime to get to root cause.

Note: I noticed that if you are driving on the street in 2WD, lever all the way foward, and you push the 4WD shift lever more forward or accidently hit it forward, these messages can pop up, ie. service 4WD, etc.... I think some kind of sensor gets activated.

i have 18000 on my 2020 overland and this just started happening within the last week. Never been in 4wd. it also causes the Forward Collision Warning light to come on and the Park sense to turn off. anyone have any ideas what could be causing this. Dealer wont look at it until Monday the 16th. Just want some knowledge so I dont get bs at dealer.
Hello, did they ever figure out what the cause was, i am having the same issues, dealer has looked at it twice and said they couldn't find anything wrong. Thanks

This just happened to me. Pushed the lever forward slightly to make sure it was in 2wd after I saw 2wd flickering on my dash. Then it he Serb 4wd and sway bar lights popped up.

I get it after a couple of minutes in 4-Lo. Shift it back to 2-Hi and the 2-Hi, 4-Lo, and SERV 4WD lights stay on. Shut the engine off, turn it back on, and everything has reset.
