Hmm... Honestly, I think it's more of a physiological reasoning.

I'm a huge fan in uniformity - and when tint doesn't really match it drives me absolutely nuts.

To give you an example, this is the 3rd time I've tinted this Jeep to get it how I want because it drove me crazy.

Now, I do also drive an Audi S6 - which I tinted %30 all around, not %5, and it's so clean looking I wouldn't go %5.

On top of the uniformity, I kind of like being in the Jeep like a vault - maybe I have some mental process in me that likes the small spaces (however I have not had any violence in my past that would give me a PTSD reason for this, so just a theory.).

To counter the belief of dark tint; I don't smoke, drink, or text text while I drive. I don't do anything that one would think someone with dark tint needs so they can prevent viewing inside the cockpit - and half the year my doors are off.

Long winded paragraph, but yea... Go team!

Don’t recall the percentage, but just the front two windows with the legal limit for MA, we have yearly inspection and they use a tint meter at the inspection. Not very dark and definitely much lighter than the rear windows.

Got the tint put on today. Decided on 30 front, 15 rear/back. Happy with the exterior look of it, will see after a few days how I like it from the inside. Pretty close to what I've done on previous vehicles so I'm pretty sure I'll be happy with it.

I can’t stand non matching tint, so I did 20% front, even though NC inspections are a PITA. I’m not sure what 20% film they used, but it’s a perfect match to the rear.

What? The rear is 20%. I’ve heard of people going slightly darker on the front to match the rear because the windshield makes the tint look lighter.

What I think happened here is they used 20% film and a lot of 20% film actually measures 15% when tested.
