Three things:

1) Depending on weight, could be weight savings. (Because Race Truck haha)

2) Heat reduction, but only at a stop. COULD reduce heatsoak which is the #1 killer of power off the line. (Again, because Race Truck)

3) Usefull for a TMIC/heat reduction. (Top Mount InterCooler). For those running FI (Forced Induction) this MAY make it possible to use a TMIC for boost, IF you can fit a usable core AND fabricate a ram-air duct to channel the air from the front scoop up into that opening. That OR fabricate a hood-scoop (ram-air design) to force air down through the TMIC into the engine bay, like Subaru did with the WRX/STi lineup.
- The latter would be more effective as this ensures positive airflow down over/around the engine at speed and prevent air stalling within the engine bay to effectively increase cooling, while providing "cooler" air over the TMIC/intake manifold.

When done correctly, ram-air vents DO work. THIS just isn't a "complete" product if that's your goal.

I think it compliments the angry-grille nicely. Went from just mad to full-on Decepticon.
