I bought a manual Mojave mainly to get the 4:10 axle with a 6spd but would still trade some top end to get a little more off idle torque. For me the mental adjustment was getting used to spinning up the V6 when power is needed. Ive yet to put it into a technical offroad setting where low speed control is needed.

My 3.6 has great power, more than enough for its commuting duties!

I’m quite pleased with the power output of the 3.6. All you need for any real world situation imo.

I agree plenty of power but coming from the 4.0L six I miss that off idle grunt. Once spun up it moves out though. Of course I have not disabled ESS yet.

The power is adequate for the intended use. Jeep is not a sports car, if I want light to light I would drive my Mustang GT. I would like a good inline 6 or a small V8, but the current engine is fine for it's intended use.

My wife still has her 2011 Grand Cherokee. The 3.6 has over 140k on it and still runs like new. I think we've replaced the water pump. So far the extended warranty hasn't been a good investment LOL.

I still can’t figure out the difference between my 2017 Wrangler Rubicon Recon and my 2020 Gladiator Rubicon. Both had the exact same gearing (4:10) and the same spec Pentastar engine. The Wrangler was gutless
and the Gladiator is very spirited. Puzzlement.

6spd vs a 8spd, those extra gears make a difference.

We’re both automatic transmissions? If so the JKU has a quirky 5 speed auto, the new JL and JT have the awesome 8 speed automatic.

I’m totally stoked with it. Coming from a Tacoma, it’s like night and day.

Overall I'm pretty happy with mine. My 2010 JKU Rubicon with 37's and 5:13 gearing couldn't pull itself out of wet paper bag. So in that comparison, the Gladiator is outstanding. My 2019 JLR felt faster than the JTR. Compared to some of my previous vehicles like my WS6ZXR that I raced for many years, my Jeep GC SRT8 or even my Raptor, there's no comparison. If they put the V8 in the Gladiator for 2022, I will be standing in line for one, and probably get the Mojave with the V8.

When I built my 2011 JKUR I was advised (and thankfully listened to) to go with 5.38 gears. It helped, but the thing still had trouble maintaining speed uphill against a headwind.
coming from my comanche (4cyl/4speed), my '07 2-door (3.8L/MT), and my '11 (3.8L/auto), I'm very impressed with the power in my JTR. Can't wait for the first time I have to tow my wife's TJ or my '52 Willys anywhere.
