Many of us end up at a Jeep dealer and take home one of these highly versatile toys. Many want to know where to start with customizing without spending tens of thousands of dollars, but they're not yet ready for overlanding, mud slinging, or rock-hopping. I bought my Gladiator new with quite a few options, including a special fully blacked-out package that I always admired.

These were my first items I added and made use of right away:

1. MOPAR Side Steps

2. MOPAR Sill Protectors

3. MOPAR Twill Soft Top

4. Upgraded the Factory Premium Sound System and Woofer

5. MOPAR Mud Mats

6. Shortie Black Coil Antenna

7. USA Blackout Hitch Receiver Cover

8. MOPAR Spray-In Bed Liner

9. MOPAR Soft Top Bed Cover

10. Smartliner Bed Mat (Thick Rubber)

11. Black HD Cargo Holder Tub

12. Under Rear Seat Cargo Organizer Container

What Daily-Use Basic Items Did You Add to Your Gladiator?

I don't really consider a soft top, upgrading the factory sound system and woofer, Spray in bed liner, or a tonneau cover "basic" upgrades... Thats like, I don't know... $6,000 worth of accessories...

With the money you spent I would've had me a rubicon and worried about a second top, better speakers, and tonneau cover later...

With what you consider "Simple and Basic" add ons I can't wait to see your rig after you get it ready for the trail....

If you're talking simple and basic, there are things that are daily used and fairly cheap:

Shorty antenna
Center console hanging storage box
Center console organizer
Those door lock latch covers to clean up the looks
Door hinge bolts for easier door removal
The "screw protection cover trim" to clean up the looks
Some type of cellphone mount (I like bulletpoint)
Auto start stop eliminator (not a tazer, but the hardware thing)
Rubber floor mats
Some drybags - not jeep specific but very useful

"4. Upgraded the Factory Premium Sound System and Woofer"

is this something you did yourself? curious how difficult.

why spray in liner and bed mat? seems like overkill to me, just curious.

my list:
1. bestop sunrider for hardtop
2. weathertech front and back mats
3. spray-in bedliner
4. mopar roll up tonneau cover
5. short antenna
6. center console hanging side pocket things (rests in front of shifter)
7. door hinge pins
8. rugged ridge eclipse full length sunshade
9. lange coyote doors off mirrors

Critical for me on my Rubicon were :

#1 - weathertech mud flaps (and ditching stock PPF and getting the rear fenders done right)

#2 - Mopar slush mats

#3 - ditching the halogen bulbs and replacing : headlight, turn signal and running light bulbs with LED bulbs. (This was actually surprisingly inexpensive compared to new headlights, factory LED's, etc.)

#4 - MORRFlate air up/down 4 tire system

#5 - a real front bumper (Warn) with a Warn Evo 10k winch, and Baja Designs LED fog lights!!!!!!!!! (Bright)

Fun and useful stuff :

Bulletpoint Dash system for GPS, Phone, GoPro, etc.
CMMOffroad mounts for GPS, Navigation iPad
Rhino recovery gear
Oracle Pre-Runner Grill lights
Alien Sunshade
Roam Storage containers for bed
Uinta Bedrail system
TOOLS!!!

PS - there is no "cheap" and "easy" way to get your jeep into shape. It's ALL freaking expensive. I think I'm 10k into this, and I've been pinching pennies at every step. Trying to make solid, but inexpensive choices. It's expensive at every turn....

I know people love the shorty antennas but the factory mast antenna is designed to let you know if you have enough cab clearance to go under an obstacle if you are off-road or crawling at your local mall.

Of all the things I’ve added so far my favorite has been bedside molle panels. I have the JCR ones and love the versatility/attachment points. They allow me to carry all my stuff and keep the bed fairly empty.

Thread full of opinions here why not add.
This limousine of a Jeep…. Anyone adding steps who intend for their ride to leave the paved road- frame mounted rock rails are a must…. All these step downs, and glorified splash guards are going to be destroyed first pivot around a tree or rock- because let’s be real, the turning radius isn’t much smaller than a full sized truck…. Not to mention the factory break over angle is just a bit over a mini van :|

Putting some $$ into function with the aesthetic is important. ? my big butt, and my wife’s vertically impairedness needed a step too- but want one I’m not going to flip a lid when they touch an obstacle.

I took long break from this addiction, but I picked up an 2023 Overland Edition that came pretty loaded, to include: dealership applied spray in bed liner, MOPAR floor mats, side steps and Hot Head liners. Though I’m not sure how you can call it “Overland” when it doesn’t have the factory bed outlet?

Anyway, after ditching the stock tires for some 33” Falken tires:

Bullet Point Rubigrid
Center console organizer
GPCA grab handles with pouches
BAK Revolver X4s
MOPAR door sill protectors
Roll bar coat hangers
Seven Sparta expander cup holder insert
Passenger grab bar tray insert
MORE dead pedal
OTTOCAST wireless car play (probably not keeping)
Oracle reverse lights

Going on today:

Rough Country MLC-6 with some old school switches
Spiderwebshade JTKINI

Ordered and waiting for:

JCR molle panels
Teraflex 1.5” leveling kit (considering longer MOPAR LCAs)
