I did also recently see another thread here saying that the Jeep manual explicitly states, do not use with a slide-in camper. For whatever that's worth.

I got excited and looked it up... it weighs 1197 lbs... or all the truck’s payload basically. That’s probably why Jeep says no slide-ins. I think weight is going to be the issue with slide-ins.

That's exactly how my thought process went after I saw it.

Do you have a more through build thread elsewhere? On another forum even? I'd be curious to see your design and build process, as well as your background... this looks like you make boats for a living.

I've got to say that I do understand why jeep says no camper in the bed area, some people don't understand physics , I design mine knowing to keep center weight at the right place, solide ancrage on frame. NOT GOING CRAZY IN THE WILDERNESS , Most of it is common sense but for some, they just don't get it.

I was driving back from Denver a few days ago (picking up new wheels and tires for my JT) and as I got near my exit, the left lanes slowed to a crawl. As I crept up to the slowdown, there was a slide-in in the middle of the road and a pickup truck on the shoulder with the owner & passenger out on the highway walking around their now severely (ie. totaled) slide-in parked in the middle of the highway. Looking at the truck as I passed, I couldn't determine a point of failure, but the tailgate was severely bent down on the driver side.
