Slip on spacers

Hello Everyone,

Im wondering if anyone has experience (or even found slip on spacers for JT/JLs)? Reason being is that I found the wheels I want after looking at many different brands, colors. and designs. Except theyre about +10mm offset from what Im looking for fitment wise.

I know some cars a 10mm is just too much and the lug nuts wont have enough thread engagement to be properly secured. I was wondering if anyone had tried this or measured this out. I would do it myself but my JT is still on order. Im new to the offroad and jeep worlds so forgive me if this is heresy lmao. Seems slip ons might not be a thing for this community because I cant find them or info on it anywhere.

Can I ask the reason being? Im not a huge fan of spacers overall, but a small slip on shouldnt be the end of the world.

What tires are you using? The plus 10 is not a bad offset, keeps the tires from not sticking out much. Generally spacers are not great especially if you are doing any off roading.

Offset shouldn’t have anything to do with the length of the lugs.
I had some +6mm offset wheels for a while, and there were no fitment issues.
The tires just poked out a bit.

Slip-on spacers are ok as long as things like lug stud length, thread engagement, hub-centric pilot diameter and pilot diameter length are taken into account. They are popular on cars the use lug bolts instead of lug studs w/nuts because it is easy to simply get a longer lug bolt to make up for the spacer thickness.

I think you're not understanding what I'm saying.

The wheels are -12 offset. I want something like -20. So they're ~ +10mm of offset from where I want it. I say 10mm because a 10mm slip on spacers is a common size, 8mm is not.

The JL spacers listed on trakplus.com should have the same specs as the JT spacers. As far as thread engagement, it is so critical that I certainly wouldn't take anyone's word on it. Since you are familiar with spacers, just go through checking the tread engagement as you normally would to see what you need to do.

Right I was just hoping some one had experience with this before I buy them. Like I said before my JT is still on order, so I'd have to wait till then and order the spacers, check engagement, then order wheels. If some one else had pictures/measurements I was hoping they'd chime in, but I suppose not.

I can't image NOT needing longer wheel studs using a 10 or 12mm spacer. H&R states that, when using the slip-on type spacers, new studs are required that are longer than the originals by the thickness of the spacers.

Agreed, but, incidentally, up to .5 inches, or about 12 mm is all that's legal in my state, and you'll fail inspection for anything more.

NY you just have to know people and you're fine.

10mm usually calls for longer studs on all the cars I've had prior as well. But like I said, new here so wasn't sure if y'all had longer studs from the factory, or what.
