Hello,

So we had a helluva snow storm over the weekend, and I used Offroad+ mode to get my wife to work (she's a nurse... and the fire department was supposed to come get her in a UTV, but they were taking too long. So it was game on for the Gladiator.). On the way back, I had to gun it through a stretch of 12" deep snow and revved the piss out of the engine. Upon deceleration, I hear a little clunk, and a warning on the dash that said I "may have slipped out of gear" or something along those lines. I had no power to the wheels, and I came to a halt pretty dang quick. I put it into park, shifted back into 2WD, then back into 4wd, and I was on my way again. Is this a common thing?? Or should I be heading into the dealership to have it checked out? I definitely do not want to be caught with my pants down in the middle of the next snow storm.

Thanks in advance/

Bring it for a review, they should be able to figure out what happened.

Is offroad + only available in 4low? Maybe you fudged the tranny up? Auto vs manual?

No it's available in 4H... from what I can tell it's meant for desert running/sand. It remaps the RPMs to rev a little higher, and also turns off traction control. It's SUPER fun to use in the snow... but maybe I'm pushing the transmission a little too hard.

Had that happen a couple of times in 4HI and 4LO. New and tight, I didnt have it engaged 100%. only once in 4HI. and a couple times in 4LO. I knew the difference once I got it fully engaged and chalked it to operator error. Since then, knowing the feel of fully engaged, it has not happened.

Let's put it this way - not on Overland or Sport.
Dang nanny stuff :giggle:

Now after being a horse's rear give us a "trail report" on it vs other 4×4 systems.

Well, offroad+ isn't on Overland or Sport, correct?

Maybe with top stereo system? Not in my Sport S Max-Tow. :like: I got as close to base model Sport S Max-Tow.
As much as I know it's on the Rubicon n Mojave models, stuff I wanted to stay away from.
I believe in technology but I like being able to replace a non integration parts like stand alone GPS vs the stereo system ones. Probably due to having GPS fail in some hostile locations of 2 way live fires.

It's not in Overland for sure.
The only option I don't have - passive entry.
I have the 8.4 with the premium sound.
