I had a pretty well sorted Q60 red sport totaled. Insurance was fantastic about letting me strip it of parts down to the speakers. By the time it went off to auction it had no rotors, calipers, intercooler, intakes, downpipes, exhaust, BOVs, lower & upper IC piping. I would have pulled the coil-overs if I had time but no dice. She literally told me just make sure it doesn't look stripped.Just heard back from dealer I originally ordered from and they are saying 5-6 month wait for orders. They have a very similar vehicle on the lot with black hardtop and clothe seats. Wonder if I can talk appraiser into letting me switch hardtop and wheels out if I bought this one (if totaled) and add some Katzkin leather.
I second this. Dont wanna sound like that guy but this is the whole point of insurance. Especially when insurance companies force you to get full coverage on a new vehicle.Under no circumstances should you accept this... if you do, you are allowing the at-fault party to rob you. Their insurance is supposed to make you whole...
Sitting in my garage.Keep your $4,000 shell.
Amen to that. Its totaled, both front frame horns are swayed to the passenger side. Look at Copart, doesn't take much for the JTs to get totaled out.
MSRP on one like mine is 6K more than when I bought 2.5 years ago. Wow.I agree I should be made whole from the incident. Decided to deal with my insurance and have them get reimbursed from her insurance for various reasons (logistics behind a rental car, car replacement policy on my plan and towing etc). MSRP on my build has gone up almost 4k since I bought it last March and with build dates of 5-6 months Iām not going to be able to order and get 5.5% off invoice similar to before.
So even if my truck gets totaled for 60K and I get a 20% kicker for car replacement, thatās 72k which is eaten up by price of a replacement with taxes registration (expensive in Colorado 1.8% purchase price or something crazy).
So with a truck with an MSRP of 66.5k that I paid 59k that now has an MSRP of >70k I will have a loss. Not sure how to make an insurance company make up that difference besides push them to total and fight back on appraisalā¦..
I bet it continues to rise with the new mpg mandate. We might not even see gladiators anymore in a couple more years making ours priceless. sure would be a crying shame if someone totaled a JT after they stopped production.MSRP on one like mine is 6K more than when I bought 2.5 years ago. Wow.
Everyone walked away pretty much unscathed. If totaledā¦ another diesel gladiator or something else?

Dibs on the tan leather seats.So....
That topper for sale
Make sure you are in communication with both your insurance and the responsible parties ... I went through my insurance assuming all would be taken care of and found that they dropped my rental after 30 days.(still pissed about that) .. when I contacted the responsible parties insurance they had no record of the accident either from their insured or from my insurance.I agree I should be made whole from the incident. Decided to deal with my insurance and have them get reimbursed from her insurance for various reasons (logistics behind a rental car, car replacement policy on my plan and towing etc).
