I’m very fortunate to have walked away. I’ve heard many stories of people that don’t make it out of these alive when a moose is hit

Right - they are tall, they are heavy heavy dense animals. Too often, they make it through windshields..............

Moose ran onto the highway full throttle just missing the car that just passed me…then air bag exploded … moose landed well to my right in the ditch even though my 5000 lb truck hit it doing 60 mph.

But back when Ford made a real truck I had totally rebuilt a 74 Ford High boy and I just ran right over the deer I didn't even stop . I am not lieing hand on the Bible

Friend in high school had a '75 F250 High Boy. Did yours's have the split rims?

When I bought it they had been replaced by the original owner .

The original owner had been using it as a oil & gas field mechanics service truck . It had a fiberglass tool bed on it.
I had to totally rebuild the engine made a terrible mistake while reassembling the engine ( dropped a bolt on the main journal and it put a 30thousandths knick in it embarrassing) and had to get a second crankshaft. . Good Lord that thing had Bonus power to spare . But it also drank ths gas at alarming rates

I loved that truck but if you was on the highway doing 80 you literally could watch the needle drop . It literally would bury the speedometer. 390 4 barrel bored 60thousandths overly large cam high-performance pistons and rods ,heads had work and block was decked.
If I had the money I would find another one to rebuild . The motor back in 1996 cost me 2500 dollars to do . I dont even want to think what it would be today.

I didn’t see that one coming either. I screamed and dropped my books and ran to the boys room to clean off…. I can’t un remember it.

Grade 6, 8, etc is such a Canadian thing. It always makes me think of trailer park boys. lol.

Moose can run, what, 30-35 mph? They aren't slow if they find you annoying.

You are quite right.

When I was 19, I think it was 1987, it was a beautiful summer day, i had a CB 900 Honda and rode it everyday, I was a careful, confident rider. This particular day was like any other, I made plans the day before to ride out to Canmore to meet up with the parents and friends for lunch …

Early the next day, I get the call from my mother, she’s feeling anxious for me and doesn’t know why, she told me to be careful coming out and don’t bring the girlfriend.

The day was bright and warm and I set off on my motorcycle wearing jeans, tank top T-shirt and a full face helmet for my 1.5 hour ride from Calgary. Approaching Canmore, I get off the TransCanada Highway and merge onto the side highway stretch leading to Canmore… All was good, I brought the bike up to 60mph and noticed a pickup truck coming from Canmore had just made the turn through the intersection for Calgary, then stopped… As I am traveling through the intersection, the truck instantly backs up. I had no time for brakes and went straight into the side of the truck box …

I had no idea I was going to meet God that day when my mom called, but I did. As soon as I hit the truck, time slowed down. I didn’t experience real time, it was all slow and a body that was very large caught me in mid flight and placed me on the hard surface. I wasn’t knocked out, I had no road rash but had a good share of shock to deal with. The paramedics that attended said I was the 5th motorcycle accident that day, all before noon.
