Sooo…theres a few things I can take off the truck. It was towed and dropped off in the alley and my question is….

Since the air bag was deployed, does anyone know if I will be able to start the truck, put it in gear and put this thing in my heated garage to do the stuff I need to do? I will of course top up the coolant bottle for this quick little endeavour.
Can't hurt it anymore than what it is. If they are going to total it, who cares.

Glad you'll have some warmth to take off what you can.

Should have seen me just before I bought my JT. Stripping parts off of my Power Wagon in January. 1 week after having kidney surgery. Out in the cold. The PW wouldn't fit in the garage.

Started right up ….. I have an engine light on 😳. What could it be??!!! It went into gear and got it in the garage! It’s really weird steering with a big floppy bag attached to the steering wheel.
I’ve cut them out and limped vehicles home like that. Insurance doesn’t care.

I can’t figure out how I got all this and busted connectors up front and the thing fires right up and drives. God help the poor guy that bends a little tiny pin in the door connector or some other connector or the aux battery decides to have a bad day and no one can figure out why nothing works!

UPDATE:
Damage came in at $37k cad ($26k USD)
Truck valued at $46,700 cad ($33,200k USD)

They wrote it off. If I wanted to keep it under salvage title, I would have to pay $9000 cad ($6400 USD)

On to the next….
That’s actually a fairly reasonable salvage value. Someone will probably pay more than that at auction and rebuild it.

Getting another gladiator?

Correct, foreign buyers are paying big on Copart auctions.

Crazy!
Yes, I’ll be finding another Gladiator Rubicon. Will also be upgrading shocks. Not going new, but new enough, 2024, end of December into beginning of January.

My Rubicon shocks are pretty worn at 60k, but I did like them a lot at first. It’s 100% my fault for all of the heavy towing and hauling I’ve done. Completely ignoring the payload especially. I’m just putting 5100s on it. They’re fairly inexpensive and I’ve loved every Bilstein shock I’ve had.

Recommend if buying Pre-owned, get from a dealership that does FCA Jeep Certified Pre Owned vehicle. Check out Certified Pre owned warranty coverage.

Many of those pre-owned warranties can be had for 100k to 125k miles . Better than the original coverage for some dang reason.
