Snagged a cheap double piston Vevor inflator... for $88 including shipping.

So... After much back and forth, I decided to fill the over ugga-dugga'd fitting with Steel Stick and try to tap it out.

It worked, sorta. I had to remove the aluminum "manifold" from the piston and then drill that out. It works well enough with a slight leak to fill the tires up and fast. When I get a moment I'm going to hit the areas I worked on with CA glue and epoxy to grab whatever hair line leak I have.

It's now residing in the bed with a larger air hose from my pancake compressor I never use and an inflator.

This is the thing with Vevor stuff. If you don’t mind putting a little elbow grease into stuff it can save some cash and work just fine.

NP. And yes, these things got stupid expensive. From what I gather the NAPA model is now completely different than before.

While mine was apart I ordered another one from Amazon just in case I needed it on my road trip. I compared the two and the $150 Kohree brand one was not quite as refined as the milling on the Vevor. Once I got back in town and hadn't used it I sent it back to Bezosmart and got the Vevor operational. I should be getting a little surf fishing in next week if all goes well to test it fully.

Yup. I almost bought the single cylinder, too.

Something else to add:

The type of tap that the Chinese use is an odd metric that doesn't quite line up with US NPT fittings.

After I filled the existing hole with Steel Stick I tapped it with several smaller bits leading ultimately to a 9/16" and then used the 1/4" NPT tap to thread it. I wound up jettisoning the Chinese fitting adapter and just went with a 2.5" 1/4" NPT out of the manifold and into the T. I used teflon tape on the T-fittings but Loctite pipe dope for the manifold connection.

Mine showed up Saturday, beefier and heavier than I thought, it's a solid 15 lbs lol.

I just used it as is out of the box, blew my 37's up from 20 PSI to 30 in no time, nice piece of kit.

Totally overwhelmed my little Tesla tire though lol, went from 30-45 PSI in about 4 seconds.

I just used it as is out of the box, blew my 37's up from 20 PSI to 30 in no time, nice piece of kit.

I get so used to airing up truck tires that doing my Camaro is much the same.

Really is, especially for the price. I spent some time cleaning the cylinders from old machining gunk when I did my mod. I've see the videos where guys boost the output by boring out certain areas, etc but as fast as these are, WTF is the point?

There were two significant reasons I did the mods I did: Out of the box that hose off the manifold gets HOT and without a pressure switch inline it just keeps running until I unplug it. From my minimal testing post-mod, the brass does a much better job of dissipating the heat than the rubber hose ever did. And not delivering a shit ton of air down the line and risking a psssssssBOOM if I'm not paying attention... well, it just kinda made sense.
