My Waze looked different on Android Auto this morning. So did Google maps. Some of the touch screen buttons were in different places. I noticed that Waze and Spotify will do a split screen now.

If there is, who knows, and what would it matter if it was by VIN or radio SN or whatever. You'd not know until it happened. It just happens, but you will know it when it does.

I did this update on Thursday. I dont think it plays nice with the tazer. After the update my battery was draining fast and auto start stop stopped working due to the constant battery charging message.

I updated the tazer to the latest software but now none of the settings stick. I took out the tazer in case that updated needs to have those plugs hardwired to the jeep itself. Also emailed zauto to see if they're aware and if there will be an updated firmware.

Anyone else who did this update have a tazer? Did it affect you?

bought new 2 years ago...never seen an OTA....wtf?
Just because you didn't "see it" doesn't mean it didn't happen. Check your software version and see if it is the most current. If it is in fact an older version than I agree, wtf.

It's frustrating when you get a software update, but you can't quite see the improvements, right? Sometimes updates focus on background fixes or security enhancements that may not be immediately visible.
Why would it be frustrating? I guess I've been involved with IT/computers/vehicle systems too long to believe I'll "see" changes when an update comes out. In fact, over the years I've crossed fingers and hoped I'd never see a change other than maybe improved stability.
I ask people - do you Own a computer by any chance? Or a phone?
Think of the updates that go out constantly to those.
Most updates won't be visible at all. In fact, it's good when you can't see any difference on a working item.

Most OTA things won't be major revisions, so look very carefully. Major revisions typically take a lot longer, are large file-wise, and they aren't about to push them out due to the risks involved to a moving or operating vehicle. They'll be minor revisions, bug fixes, fixes to things that may cause issues with 2% of the vehicle population but generally are not seen, that sort of thing.

@Hootbro has told of the keychord used to put the radio into the mode to see the software versioning. Really simple. (well, it's buttons, not keys in this case, but it takes less time than clicking and watching a video)

On HVAC controls, press the temp up/down and front window defrost keys at the same time for a few seconds and the radio will go into dealer mode. Select the radio part information and it will list the revision.
Here ya go - easy find.....

The Map Update website has instructions on how to get the version installed. They require that information to order a map update. If not already installed, they send the latest version of the head unit software with the map update. If you plan on keeping the truck long term, I would suggest a map update every two years. I got one on sale for $99 when I did the update.
