So I am all set to do a 5 tire rotation...dropped the spare and see that the spare rim is just a stock rim, not once that came with the Rubi...as in does not match the other 4.

Is this normal? Do I need to purchase another matching rim to match the others? Or am I missing something?

Little irritated at this one, I understand that its under the bed and normally its not seen like JK's and such, but still.

Most vehicles do that these days. They provide a "full size" spare, but not a "matching spare." I would just do a four tire rotation and if you have a flat, use the spare

My LE came with a steel wheel spare and first rattle out of the box had to flip it on the cable mount so as to able to check tire pressure. From the factory you cannot access the valve stem. The spare is upside down. Unless you want to be able to do a 5 wheel rotation it really makes no difference as to what type or size is in the spare location.

It’s completely normal to have a steel wheel spare, the Wrangler is the vehicle that is the exception to the rule because it’s in view on the tailgate. No need to change the wheel, just upgrade the tire size to match you other 4 and you’ll be fine. Most 37s will fit under there, might be snug but it will fit.

If you had a matching rim for the spare - would you mount if good face up, or back-side up?
I get good face up to prevent gouging and scratching, but was thinking about brine, salt, sand, etc. sitting up on the top side if mounted that way.

(Grand Cherokee you can't see the spare as it's under the cargo area floor - but it's a matching wheel)

Perfectly normal. I don’t think there is a truck on the market with a matching aluminum spare.

If you are considering getting a matching wheel/rim, be aware that the spare tire hanger won’t fit through the small hole in the center of the aluminum like it does the steal

I wasn't concerned about that part as I could always fabricate anything needed to get a wheel up there. Just wondering which direction in my case.
6 of one, 1/2 dozen of the other - if you put bright side up you may get grime caking up the finish. If you put bright side down, you might have grime caking up on the hub mating surface.
You’d think there would be a way to protect your wheel short of wrapping it in a garbage bag to keep it clean.

Just be glad you get a full-size spare instead of a donut or a can of sealant.

Ask yourself: What value does a mfr get if they provide buyers with a matching wheel and spare tire?

Oh, I agree - and for some, they'll never see the spare anyway. I usually have to replace tires due to age and have a brand new spare.
It's the premium vehicles that get the full 5 wheel set like the Grand Cherokee.
My Ford never had the spare taken from under the truck in 80,000 miles.

Confirmed today that a matching spare from a Rubicon Wrangler does indeed fit:
