In keeping up with all the forum news, in this case the ridiculous market value, I decided to see what KBB valued my 2021 Gladiator Sport at. However, when prompted to enter my options, I didn't see check boxes for many of the features I have.

This got me thinking. . . . .by all indications, I purchased a Sport. The dealer said Sport, window sticker says Sport, and the tailgate says Sport but the options I have installed point towards a Sport S. For example, I have power windows which the Jeep website says only come manual in the Sport. Same with remote start and power locks. Also, the "Optional Equipment" I have such as the Customer Preferred Package 24S which includes cold weather & technology group are not even available when building out a Sport on their site.

So my question is, being a new Jeep owner and all, are there any true indicators that differentiate a Sport from a Sport S? There's a 6k value difference between the two and I want to ensure I get top dollar if I plan to upgrade to a different Gladiator trim.

Below is my window sticker, any advice would be appreciated.

The S is just an option package on the Sport. You have it.
Hence, you have a Sport S.

Edit: actually you have a Sport S with the Max Tow package as well. That makes a difference too. Not the same as the regular plain tow package.

@Garemlin @IamPro2A Thanks for the feedback! Makes total sense now. I have some thinking to do now if the trade in value is truly that high.

What do you want to upgrade to? Your only options are a Mojave or Rubicon really.

Mojave for sand and Rubicon for rocks / lockers.

Yours is well equipped and pretty much the highest trim as far as the Sport trims. I wouldn't trade. IMO

What @Cripton805 said. And keep in mind that while used prices are high, so are on the lot new prices. If you even find a Mojave or Rubicon optioned at least as nice as your Sport S, you are probably looking at $60k and up, at least in my area.

The new ones aren't marked up at all in my area. They are harder to find, but at normal prices.

I had a manual Wrangler JLU with the anti-spin diff option. I never came close to getting stuck. Only time I got stuck was in sand because I slowed down and it was too steep. I would have been stuck with anything. I still managed to get myself unstuck on my own. Maybe even a Mojave unless I went full throttle up the sand dune and with some high speed to begin with. It's too dangerous for that at Pismo Beach, CA. I went over some pretty rough rocks and articulation up some hills. I was on 35's and a 2.5" spacer lift. I never felt the need for lockers. Although, they are nice to have if you ever need them.

So I went with a Willys Sport with the Gladiator because of the terrible departure angle and longer wheelbase. I was also satisfied with the Anti-Spin diff. I don't really see a purpose for a Rubicon on a Gladiator unless you have a pretty decent lift, big wheels, and are going to be climbing up rocks / steep hills. Your worst enemy will be the departure angle and dragging the belly. Not the need for lockers.

Thus which is why I think the Mojave is the best trim for the Gladiator. The truck shines in the desert, high speed, and suspension. Not over rocks and hills like the Wrangler does.

I don't feel comfortable going over hills and rocks on the Gladiator like I did with my Wrangler. That is my opinion though.

@IamPro2A @Cripton805 With all that positive equity I owed it to myself to explore my options. The more I look at the differences however, the less I’m leaning towards trading as you stated. Yeah, my factory stereo sucks, LED headlights would be a welcomed addition in these rural Illinois roads, and passive entry is missed but does that justify a trade?

Not really, because you can add a 7" or 8" stereo on yours pretty easily. It's a straight forward swap. You can also swap out your headlights with OEM ones or Oracle LED headlights. You can also add passive entry to yours as well. You have access to all that info on the forum. You can do all of that with a lot less than what a Rubicon or a Mojave would cost you with the same options.

Well, you could upgrade the the 7" radio you have (subwoofer, maybe better speakers) and the passive entry is like $350 in parts and then you need jscan or a tazer to make it work. And since it looks like you are far enough north for it to matter, keep in mind the stock Gladiator LED headlights are known to suck in snow. Maybe just add a lightbar for the rural roads.

You can swap in an 8.4 UConnect 4 unit for about $1800. Looks pretty easy to do.

Awesome package. I wish I had gotten the max tow as opposed to The trailer tow package. I have the sport s altitude. 8.4 etc etc. non led package though. I switched my lamps to the @ORACLElights occulus head light set, absolutely awesome. Switched my taillights out as well with LED system, love it. totally get where your coming from but the max tow is a pretty awesome package. Good luck with your decision but it looks like you’ve got a really well equipped rig for a decent price (you know….it is a Jeep sooo….decent price is relative ?)My two regrets...no max tow, no proximity. Oh well, love my truck!
