If you have the Appine system it is not that bad. All the speaker wires are at the amp in drivers knee panel. I did the DSR1 (I do NOT recommend it), the PAC unit and wiring harness are easy. It is just time consuming to di it right... Here are some pictures of my last system in my old Gladiator...

My audio system upgrade is by far the favorite mod I've done so far. Got everything off of Crutchfield except the JL3001.

Insane Audio JL3001 head
JBL 40 watt x 8 channel amp
Sound Ordinance 8" sub
6 1/2" Kickers knee panel
6 1/2" Kickers roll bar
Hertz 4" for the dash corners

This system is crisp, clear and man does it thump when it needs to. A buddy has a stock Alpine in his Rubi and it sounds good but he says mine is waaaaay better. Total cost at the time was around $2k. I think the premium sound upgrade is more than that. Long story short, I did everything myself and there were some things I had to trouble shoot because I had never installed a stereo in my life, but it is well worth it.

I picked up my 2024 with upgraded Alpine yesterday and agree the sound is not great. To my ear, the dash speakers are just flat and muddy, making the whole system suffer. My plan is to replace the dash speakers with Infinity Reference REF307F . These *should* be a perfect fit.
Have you had the chance to do this yet? I’ve been debating trying it in my 2024 Mojave X. Since I added them to my cart on Crutchfield over the weekend, they’ve dropped the price to $79.99.

I have the speakers, but have not had a chance to install them yet. I will get to it over the next couple of days.

I have these in the front dash, sound way better than stock in my 2023 Mojave. I actually just received another pair that I was going to install in the soundbar tomorrow. I noticed they just dropped the price $20 like you said. I wonder if they will give me that discount if I call them, I literally just ordered this past Friday..

I FINALLY had the chance to get these installed. WOW! Night and day difference. I had to turn down the highs because they were just too bright with where I had it set for the stock speakers. The only downside is that the deficiencies of the soundboard are now even more evident. So, new soundboard speakers and polyfill are on the way! ?
The install wad straight forward and simple. I took 2 or 3 pictures that I will post in my build journal.

I also just installed the Infinity REF307F speakers in the top of the dash and totally agree they’re a huge improvement for the Alpine system (especially for $79). Not sure I need to change anything else now as it sounds great and pretty well balanced overall.

Great to hear. I jumped on the sale last week and UPS decided not to deliver yesterday or I would have put them in as well.

You will love them. I just ordered the Infinity Reference speakers for the soundbar.

These are good speakers and I like them, especially for $130.

I decided to upgrade again, I just ordered the Terra Acoustics dash speakers. I am going to give them a try.

The Infinity speakers arrived today. I got them in in about 15 minutes. As others have said, these are great so far.

I installed the Infinity’s in the soundbar as well as the dash and it sounds way better overall. Compared to the the TrailSeven Kicker speaker option that replaces the upper dash speakers and the complete soundbar solution, it sounds just as good and maybe a bit louder as well because the Infinity’s measure about 1 ohm less than the Kickers… Crutchfield gave me a credit for the $20 price drop as well! Great upgrade for a total of about $160 for the 4 infinity speakers!

Did you put the same Infinity Reference REF307F speakers in the soundbar as the dash? Any fitment issues or were they plug and play?

Did you run the trailseven Kicker upgrade in the same rig? I personally just don't like the 4" and 3.5" combo in the sound bar. You have basically the same sized speakers trying to play all frequencies which isn't optimal at all. I'm leaning towards the trailseven as a 6.5 and separate tweeter SHOULD do a much better job of producing mid/ mid bass than any 4"/3.5" combo. The only issue is they could be under powered with the factory amp.

Yes, installed the ref307f’s.. You do have to either bend about a 1/4” of the tabs up for the dash. Another member cut of about that much, but I didn’t want to do that in case I wanted to return to Crutchfield (could easily bend back)..
