An excerpt

"some are on order, but he expects they will arrive sometime between May / early June 2019. ...FCA training page offers no mention of Gladiator specific training yet..."

Looks like a not new link: https://www.jeep.com/gladiator.html

I thought FCA said pricing would be available by April or May?

FCA is excellent at marketing! They are just trying to build a little suspense here, guys. Admit it, we're all stoked and waiting with baited breath to pay whatever amount FCA demands for that Jeep Gladiator Rubicon diesel! Our wallets are literally bursting at the seams and flush with cash, having waited 10+ years now for the coveted diesel. We'll pay anything Jeep wants! I'm expecting the additional cost for the diesel option will be a good $10,000. But hell, with the inevitable market adjusted second sticker on the diesel Gladiators that will be in place for the first year or two, I'm willing to go an additional $20,000 for the oil burner premium, albeit that is pretty much my limit. I guess the dealer has to eat, too!

If anything, my estimated $10k premium for the diesel option may be understated: "For the entry-level Cummins diesel engine with 370 horsepower and 850 pound-feet of torque, you'll need to add $9,100. The high-output Cummins engine with 400 horsepower and 1,000 pound-feet of torque is naturally even more expensive at $11,795." The Ecodiesel may be a bit less costly, but I doubt it. Even though the Gladiator oil burner has less HP and torque than the infamous Cummins, face it folks, she's still a diesel, and we'll pay anything to get that coveted diesel sound!

A compacted Graphine Iron block straight-6 5.9L Cummins motor is a whole different animal than the aluminum block v6 3.0L VM Motori motor. The EcoDiesel is closer to a gasoline powered motor with a timing chain and reasonable sized motor internals.

I personally wouldn't be surprised if the $10k figure would apply to a base model in order to get the model you can get the EcoDiesel in. But I don't see it being quite that much over an identically equipped model. To be fair I might be optimistic.

You guys get that this is a tongue-in-cheek jab at all of the fan-boys willing to pay anything and the price hype, right? He's just trying to get a reaction (and succeeding).

I stopped reading at the sentence with ‘baited’ breath and immediately scrolled down; chuckled at the kool-aid comment though :)
